I also want to add, they don't even turn the house lights on till a little over 20 minute mark. Then it's a lot brighter, obviously.

People do realize the events preceding Barbara entering the house are supposed to occur at dusk? Without going into filming specifics, there is a process called day-for-night shooting. You film the scene in the day with full light, but the final product is intended to be seen by the viewer as a shot taking place in the night. Hollywood has been doing it that way for decades.

It looks to me like the color timing changes got a little too aggressive in properly correcting the day-for-night shots, when they weren't corrected at all for the original DVD transfer. That leads to the massive differences in available light to the image. The Blu-ray would be the more correct transfer if my guess is right, though it does look like it could have been handled smoother by the technician.

That's the whole problem with the fanboys going up in arms. Who's to say the DVD isn't "wrong" and the Blu-Ray more representative of what the film ought to look like? People who keep going, "look how bright it is on DVD!" doesn't mean the BD is incorrect.

The blue is still there, it's just not as noticeable with nothing to compare it to.

I just loved seeing how the whole land looked just like the movie. The trail leading up to the house that Ben drives up. The trail up the hill to where the pumps were in the movie. Was amazing seeing all that in person.

They look neon blue compared to these.

Did you go to the cemetery too? It's just down the road. Its a lot smaller in person than it looks in the movie. But, yes it is a beautiful house and I was overly thrilled to see it. My friends were too.

Its not just the dvd.... it was how it looked theatrically, on vhs, on dvd, the HD versions that are available.

Do you maybe see how people expected the blu to look like Every single version of this film since 1990? Unless the theatrical version got it wrong too. I should go back to the theater I saw it in and demand my money back. They showed me the wrong version!

No, I didnt see that. I think I found the tree though when I was at the cemetery. Im not positive since I dont know if they filmed it elsewhere. Looks the same though and I even took a picture that pretty much matches the shot in the movie. Just less blue. Sorry cant help it.

I think I must have missed those caps. I was only ever shocked at the caps people took with their phones/cameras, which looked terrible color wise.

These don't look overly blue to me, just very very dark. I'm against revisionism and would have preferred the same brightness as the DVD, but I don't think these caps are evidence of a murked transfer. Just an intentional choice someone at the mastering stage (hopefully the filmmakers) has made. Not a mistake, like someone has accidentally pressed the wrong buttons, but a choice.

I don't think a recall is warranted.

The blue tint issue lasts for around 20 minutes and somebody, somewhere messed up. After that it looks pretty darn good. The sound is solid throughout the movie.

The co-owner of Twilight Time is a friend of mine. He knows very well I will call it as I see it. However, I, unlike others here, refuse to judge anything based on ANY comments on this board - I will wait until I see it, which will be late next week. But let's just look at the situation, shall we? First we have, I don't know, twenty pages or so of people saying really pithy things like, "I got mine today!" and "I didn't get mine today!" and "Mine came at 7:08!" and "I got a shipping notice!" That was twenty exciting pages, I tell you. Then we immediately had two posts from people who'd seen the disc and those two posts were extremely positive. Then there were some who thought it was crap and posted screen caps to prove it. Then we had several people say their Blu-ray disc's image looked nothing like the screen caps. Then we had a whole slew of people angry BASED on the screen caps and not the actual disc.

And then we had you. Who felt it necessary to bring my name up. A little obsessed?
