The new font definitely looks better.

Instead of fighting the jammed servers, I'll wait until later Friday night or even Saturday to order. There's going to be plenty of time to get orders in.

I hope Savini doesn't decide to sign 100 copies.

It won't sell out for weeks, at least. It took Fright Night over a month and that movie has a tremendous cult following.

I learned my lesson the hard way. I won't be ordering until I get the "less than 500" email from SA. If they offer an exclusive version signed by Savini, with a minimum order amount like they did with Fright Night, I would not be surprised. I didn't order "late" enough with Fright Night, so even though I ordered enough to qualify I was told I couldn't get a free copy because I had pre-ordered.

you may want to hang on to the DVD for the behind-the-scenes feature & i believe there's also a commentary...

this is the reason i'm not too sure if i'll upgrade or not. it was easy to decide to upgrade a barebones "Fright Night" DVD for the BD, but i'm not sure if this is a must-have item w/ the lack of features & premium price...

Compared to their other releases... it is But, if you read other posts from people who buy from Twilight Time, they sure would have you think it was an instant sellout and urge you to buy this movie quickly or miss out. Maybe I bought into their hyperbole a little there.

The larger point, though, was that speculators drove that sellout to happen as quickly as it did. No doubt that if each customer only bought 1 copy for himself, the sellout would have taken much longer.

I'm not sure I totally understand buying multiple copies, unless they are gifts? Sure you can sell them for $100+ but, who's buying them? Are they? I mean, I totally love this movie and it irritates me that it's all ready expensive for bare bones. "Fright night" probably has more of a following too. That being said I will be doing my best to get my order in on the 14th at 4pm, if possible. I grew up watching this movie and think it started my love for horror. i live near the filming locations and like to drive by and check them out whenever possible. Something surreal about it. That house is so stunning now it's almost Un-recognizable.

Keep the DVD and buy the Blu-ray. Buy some 2-Disc Blu-ray cases in Store or eBay, move the DVD and the BD disc in the new case and put the artcover on it. You've got yourself a nice Special Edition with only few $$$ more. I'm doing it for every movie that miss features on BD.

My post explaining why it couldn't have been speculators only driving that sellout has vanished for no discernible reason HDme, so I'm not going to waste my time addressing the subject in detail again.

The thing is, there are going to be only 3000 of these NOTLD90 Blu-rays available for the next 3 years, at least domestically. Collectors and speculators alike remember what happened when they played the waiting game before, so they aren't likely to make that mistake again. Whether this Blu-ray remains available for months, weeks, or days - I have no crystal ball - but the price isn't changing, so I see no point in waiting. I'll be in day one to ensure that I'm in the queue, and then just forget about it until the thing ships.

I definately think there should be a limit set for this. Otherwise, there will be douchebags buying up a lot of copies to flip later.

Why would they put a limit? why would they care? they want to make money, if someone wants to buy 100 copies I know I would let them, that is a guaranteed 100 copy sale that might not have happened if I limited purchase, so I wonder why anyone would even suggest this.

So what is different on the DVD release of this that will not be on the BD?

I don't buy any stuff for resale that I don't already have in my collection. I don't deal in titles that I don't understand a collector's passion for. I know Romero/Savini/zombie/gore fans, because I am one/all of the above.

I'm buying all I can reasonably afford, only because I know exactly what I'd pay for a copy if I'd missed it.

As for the speculator question, no, speculators are not keeping Twilight Time in business. That's pretty ludicrous. What, are there a hundred of us just buying and selling to each other? I think not.
I hate greedy speculators like this.

The fact is that there are many people not visiting forums like this and mostly buy only through local shops, or perhaps ebay sometimes. These people are the ones the "businessmens" are taking advantage of, not of us forum readers. Ofcourse it might be not morally correct to do this kind of business to movie lovers in general, but many buyers out there are better with this option than with no option to get the particular films they like. That said, it would be much better, for all us movie lovers, if these ridiculous limited editions would change to normal small runs.
