Wait for reviews from reliable sources, not random Blogspot sites no one has ever heard of.
So only experts can formulate an opinion? I guess since most people are amateurs on this site, they shouldn't be allowed to post their thoughts.

Look at his screenshots then look at the screenshots here. The colors don't match up at all. His appear to have been taken from the DVD release.

Everyone's screen shots (even the same scene) have varied depending on camera, lighting, etc.

The aspect ratio is even different in some of the screens in that article though.

A couple of people i know one being involved in working for studios on transfers and compression. But if they can gleam anything from what has been posted is a different matter.

I took the liberty of doing a Google image search for "Night of the Living Dead 1990 Blu Ray." In the first page of results I was able to find all of the images used in the article by McBastard's Mausoleum. The odd sizes match up and everything.

Here's the original article...

http://mcbastardsmausoleum.blogspot....dead-1990.html

and here are the sources of his images...

http://www.retrojunk.com/content/article/10102/index/

http://backwoodshorror.com/tags/nigh...-1990-blu-ray/

The image of the cover was taken right from this site. The guy didn't even have the common sense to rename it!

So there you have it. Like I suspected. That review is a total fraud.

After seeing the screen caps i am kind of happy i missed out on this one, it looks quite crappy, i hope that it gives scouters a harder time trying to sell there copy's as this really annoys when it is exclusive to 3000 and people buy it to charge people 4 times as much.

Camera pics are not screenshots. Actual screenshots really shouldn't vary too wildly. I watched this last night, and the screenshots (the ACTUAL screehots) are accurate.

That being said, I wasn't really offended by the change but I haven't watched this film in a LONG long time.

Yes they are.

Some of them are too dark, outside the farmhouse when Ben pulls up and kills zombies. 30 mins in, the transfer is acceptable.

Not real happy about the audio changes, guns and camera at the end.

well I have to laugh I just skimmed throught it an sadly someone was right at the end when their showing the pictures sadly which is disapponting they did take out the cool camera sound but as far as the gun cocking you can hear it but bearly. An as far as the blue tint goes its most prominent in the zombie scenes I noticed is it their yes but not as bad as everyone is making it out to be unless you have your tv set to vivid then its very noticeable but me personally I never use vivid setting thats a no no is it worth $30 eh $20 yes $30 that's a tough call an overall it kills the dvd pic quality especially in detail an people saying it hurts the f/x sorry not from what I saw it only slightly dulls them

I do have to say the video is a pretty accurate representation of the difference between the DVD and blu for that scene (although as has been said before, not necessarily the same noticable difference for the entire movie)

Those pictures are pretty much exactly what im seeing with my bluray. Ive even messed with all the video settings to try and get it better.

Like ive said before, im glad some of you are ok with the change. We shouldnt even be talking about a Change though.

I know some of you are saying yours doesnt look AS bad as the screenshots that show blue....

but here is the important question... Does yours look even remotely CLOSE to the dvd screencaps? The answer is no. That is whats important. Because thats how the movie is supposed to look. Regardless.

It doesn't look nearly as bad when there's nothing to compare it directly to.

Here's the blu images by them selves.

Funny, I didn't even notice the blue tint problem while I was skimming through the disc - I was too busy admiring the excellent picture quality (sharpness, detail, etc). It wasn't until I went on this forum and started reading the vitriol that I began to look for flaws. OK, so there's a contrast problem. Much of the film takes place at night so the blue tint actually benefits the atmosphere IMO. You know what, doesn't bother me at all. I'm happy with it overall. If there's ever a recall I will likely join in and request a replacement but I'm not going to lose sleep over it.
