I'm not going to open the copies of anything in the shipment until there is word back about the refund procedure. I'm not going to risk not getting a full refund because I can't wait a day or two to watch this. If they say they will take back opened copies (which I would expect them to) then I will watch it but until then I'll wait. I'll probably actually return everything in the shipment because I bought multiple items factoring in the postage costs. If I only get a part or even none of the shipping refunded one if I were to return Night of the Living Dead then the others are not worth keeping. Buying one or two movies at a time from Screen Archives Entertainment doesn't make sense financially because of the shipping costs.
On another note if they don't offer a replacement program or prepaid return labels then I doubt I will preorder from them again. It's not worth blind buying products if they won't back them up with good customer service. I've already had a run in with Screen Archives Entertainment once before when I was treated quite rudely on the phone for not looking at their FAQs before calling. I let that one slide but their next move in terms of handling this situation will probably dictate a lot of their future success. |

Yeah, it's clear they did a great print transfer. It was just ruined by whoever the colorist was trying to use a "modern" grading style.

Then again, the DVD is brown, not black-and-white, so there you are.

You're making a pretty sweeping statment there, with annoyingly primitive communist undertones. Customers are the lifesblood, yes, but a whiny proportion of customers (how large of which has yet to be determined) does not have the right to point ignorant fingers and call people out for disagreeing with them. I've seen in this thread people who admit to buying one copy or many and who have either a positive or negative point of view. I think it is HEALTHY for people to want to like something, but not healthy to ignore common sense. Yes it is different, no it wasn't advertised. But people accepted it with ALIENS in the Alien Anthology and as great as it looked, it just WASN'T the film I grew up with. It upset me but I live with it and I kept the DVD. I did not demand to know who authorised the transfer so I could childishly insult them and tell them they were stupid for seeing things different than me. God, you remind me of the people slamming this film when it came out for being different to the original.
