I'd say let's all sing Kumbaya, but being horror fans we all know what happens after that.

I guess there is always hope that when the 3 year contract is up, which will be 2015, there will be a 25th Anniversary edition.

Agree with this too, I remember a lot of people being very upset that color timing had be changed for "Halloween". Hope they finally fix it for next Month's re-release.

Remember, people read headlines and or look at the pretty pictures.
That's why I clearly stated, up front, the sources of the images. If they fail to read or pay attention that they have no one to blame but themselves.

You would have thought we would have learnt a lesson from the Fright Night thread.

I can't wait to see where the next 50 pages take us.

The bottom line is that the outcry for the initial color timing changes to Halloween were there, as they are here for NOTLD90.

Hmm, what I was getting at was that the BD was Anchor Bay/Starz first chance to fix what many thought was a wrong-headed descision, and they stuck with the same master they used for the Divimax DVD. To me, that's worse than making one error, because it's compounded, and yet people let it slide completely. Well, okay, no they didn't - but there was NOTHING like this outcry and that's been Halloween's High-Def presence for nearly 6 years now, whereas this has been out for 2 days and people are being insanely bratty about the whole affair.

This however is much much worse.. and all we get is Nope sorry, you can have your money back.

I just wish they could reply with at least "We are looking into the issues"... or "We have contacted Sony to see what happened"... thats why im so irritated with them right now. They offer nothing for an explanation to ease peoples minds. Just " Tough S*** " basically. Id think theyd want to keep the fans happy since they will be relying on us to sell out Christine for them.
The distributor already responded, and acknowledged there was a problem with the transfer. Since there won't any more discs manufactured because of its limited release, their only solution is to offer the customers a full refund. Due to a contractual agreement from the studio, Twilight Time unfortunately is unable to reproduce this blu-ray title, once it's been released. Life goes on!

I like this thread, it's exciting! - Scotty

Everyone is in a different stage of grief (denial, anger, bargaining...). I think I'm in acceptance.

The screenshots look plain awful... Worse than any blue tinting is just how dark they are. Not being able to see an actor's face that was previously easily visible should be all the evidence a person needs to know something is wrong. I am not a picky person about these things; this is so far over the threshold for me that I don't see how anybody else could be claiming to be happy with it.

I hope somebody does something about it. Either way, I'll be keeping my copy, since the TT titles are unlikely to see any other release on Blu (I'm not sure I buy into that, but no sense taking chances). Realistically, I doubt anything will happen as far as replacements. The logistics of fixing the transfer and issuing replacements would probably only solidify this as a losing deal for everyone involved, when we're talking a run of 3,000 that already sold out. I don't see how anything other than saying "oops...sorry" will be viable here.

Whatever happens, the thought that I would never buy another TT release because of one title is ridiculous. People claiming this are apparently in the bargaining stage and think that is somehow going to get them somewhere.

I wonder if SAE is thinking "maybe we shouldn't ship things out so quickly and so early". That would be a shame.

I was hoping the sudden surge of activity in this thread was page after page of members raving about this release

From watching the beginning the blue tint does seem to intensify almost shot by shot until it's distracting. I was hoping it wouldn't be as noticeable as in those screenshots but unfortunately it is. Even the very first shots in the movie hint at a color difference.

Screenshot below is the VUDU HDX (top) vs. the Blu (bottom). Although subtle, you can clearly see a difference. Of course these are crappy pics directly of my TV but since all other things are constant it should be valid for a rough comparison.

The bottom one looks less blue to me? The path looks much more orange.

If Savini comes forward and officially confirms that this is his preferred look for the film, will that change people's reaction to the transfer? I'm not saying that necessarily will or should happen, but just as a question.
