Their mistake was that they do the same thing as Image and Mill Creek do on Sony titles, yet charge 3 times as much.

the few accurate caps posted here? accurate as compared to what? the bluray isn't accurate by any means. it's pretty well established that they decided to change day to night which is pretty inaccurate to the original.

Did they not watch the disc before distributing it? Is there no QC? They didn't say "Hey, this looks drastically different than all previous versions, including film prints. Maybe there's something a bit wrong here."

While, this is true, Twilight Time certainly offers a variety of film genres in their catalog but based on this title, "Fright Night" and the upcoming "Christine", horror seems to be the one that's really bringing them quick and steady profit. It would be wise for them to continue digging into more horror films since they are the ones selling best for them.

That's what I fear. If they offer refunds, then people should just be forgiving. Twilight Time has a pretty good track record to my knowledge, and this is their only screw up. There are bigger companies that screw up transfers often and aren't getting as much crap as TT is getting for one release.

That would be fantastic. Hopefully Sony can revoke their agreement with TT with regards to Christine and Sony can release a proper version at an affordable price.

Their track record is great - no one else would have released The Big Heat or Rapture and those are stellar pic/audio quality.

there is also Demetrius and the Gladiators.
Not very good picture (of course not their fault), and audio sync issues in many (including myself)

That again is down to the supplier, TT just distribute and make magnets

I'm sure they did watch it, but you're assuming their own past familiarity with the film. The comment from them just posted shows they are indeed unfamiliar with previous iterations. I don't think it's wrong for them to presume Sony, one of the best in the industry when it comes to catalogue transfers, with some of the most stringent QC, have given them a quality transfer.

I'm confident the reply from Sony to TT will be "Yes, the film is supposed to be like that, we decided to make it darker".

A completely bogus reply? Yes, but one TT will be able to do little about.

Honestly, with Christine, I'm not sure what else they could included that wasn't included on the DVD - Carpenter/Gordon commentary and over an hour of documentary footage.
