Also, the colour is not "drained", it's drowned out in blue. If you lower the blue on your TV's gamma settings, you will see that colour - yep, it's still there!

Went to Walmart today to grab a 5.00 DVD version of this. Dont mind the blu version so much but wanted a copy of BOTH versions. Saw it with my own two eyes on Friday. They had 3 copies. Today all gone. Went to the other Walmart in Farmingdale. All gone.

Cant be a coincidence, a title no one gave a crap about sitting in bargain bins now gone?
Halloween is coming up, so people are picking some horror flicks that's all.

I can't give my opinion yet. New TV being installed and calibrated on Thursday afternoon. I'll weigh in on the subject once I've had a chance to watch it. Sounds really bad so far.

Maybe but it was the only one that was gone besides, oddly enough, Wishmaster double feature.

The Fog, Halloween Remake, Friday the 13th 1-4, TCM Remake, Wrong Turn, Howling etc all there but NOTLD90 all gone. I wish I had taken a pic. Like I said these displays have been in my store for a week now, since last Tuesday. And the only empty row was that one.

I just got around to watching (well more skimming than actually watching) this release and it is a shame that went THAT dark with it. I thought some of the later scenes (~30 minutes in) actually looked quite good. Very nice amount of detail. I dont mind them changing the color timing but I just wish they had gone a little softer with it.

That being said, I'm going to keep my copy. I figure, what the heck If, on the outside chance, they do decide to fix this, I'll send my copy in but if they don't, I'm not going to throw a fit.

Your probably right on the price. There were some other horror stuff there that were different priced as well such as Tales from the Crypt Season 7 which I think was 9.96 and others priced at 12.96.

In short, I would be VERY SURPRISED if the onus isn't ONLY on Sony to make any type of fix. And with that in mind, they're going to look at the $90k check they've already gotten and not give two whips about anyone or anything said on these forums and others.

With that in mind, offering a full unquestioned refund is the only thing TT can most likely provide. Their hands are most likely tied in this regard, contractually (remember Sony won't allow for produced extras).

So they've already done all they can, the only follow up is their passing along what Sony tells them about the change, and this is important, if they even can or will. From my reading this transfer was done a few years ago (2005ish?). The person who produced it might no longer be there. If that's the case it becomes a paper trail to follow and their legal affairs department will more than likely say "we sold it for you at $90k so we wouldn't have to chase paper trails like this. Sorry." That's what they do.

So TT has more than likely delivered, like it or not.
The only post worth reading from the last five pages or so from this thread. It's strongly possible the technician that did the color correction on the transfer doesn't even work for Sony anymore. Sony would not have to go back and create a new scan from scratch, standard operating procedure is to save the raw scan before corrections are attempted. If someone was willing to repress the Blu-rays, I wouldn't see a tweak to that transfer as being time or cost intensive.

Sony has issued a handful of replacement discs (The Fifth Element, Air Force One, Starship Troopers, etc.) on the Blu-ray format, but those were all their own releases they intended to sell as ongoing concerns.

I'd order him one...oh wait...I can't...because of the retarded notion of making a popular horror movie a limited edition only!

Can you tell I really hate this practice?
