I'm done with this thread now, I'm not happy with the new look by any means...
We got the official word from Savini (you're all welcome by the way ![]() He's happy with it, I'm not. All down to personal taste, I like it the way it's been up until this week but some prefer the new look and it is a new look. Peace Blu brothers ![]() |

That is second hand info. Not saying the person who posted it is lying, but we really need to get an official statement from either, Twilight, Sony or even Savini himself. What's going on right now, is pure speculation.

Patricia Tallman has confirmed Savini's comments as well. She's the main actress in the film so I don't think she'd make it up.

Patricia Tallman Just got this note from Tom Savini! Made my day. #NOTLD Tom Savini :Hey Sweetie, I just watched the Blue Ray of our NOTLD90 cause there was a complaint it looked blue. My copies are excellent and look fantastic...BUT i just want to say while watching it again, and somewhat objectively.....you were fabulous. |

I also just learned that there is an HD version of NOTLD90, with the original timings, on Vudu. If you have Vudu, and the Blu, take it into Walmart and have the HDX 1080p version of the film added to your account for $2. I think I'll be doing this tonight.

I'm not surprised by Tom Savini's positive opinion of the transfer, because I knew it all along.

Im not a sheep so despite what Savini thinks, its my opinion its a mistake and a dumb decision. Id love to hear his explanation on how it makes his scene with the sun goinh down and transitioning to night make no sense now..as its already night in this version..but oh well. I was waiting for an update and this covers.it. Since its obviously not going to get recalled now, ill just stick with the hd version on vudu to enjoy the movie as its been for 20 years. Look for another copy of the shitty bluray to pop up on amazon or ebay today.

Well, we do have to wait until the weekend to see what explanation Twilight Time extract from Sony. As for Savini, I remember this forum after what Friedkin did to The French Connection. What a director thinks isn't always what the public thinks.
This transfer makes a nonsense of the transition to night, daylight scenes now look like they were shot during a partial solar eclipse as there are still shadows that wouldn't be present during an overcast day and there is still the issue with missing sound. I shall hang on to my copy in the increasingly vain hope Twilight Time do the right thing but if no announcement is forthcoming by next week I'll offload it on some other sucker (assuming any are left by then) and spend my cash with more competent companies in future |

I look forward to your thoughts after viewing it. I know the colors are what we've all become used to but I suspect the encoding will present other issues.
