But Joe, don't you think that the same reason why some fans balk at TT's Blu-rays - their $30.00 pricetag - almost guarantees that no more than 5% to 10% of TT sales will ever go to the flippers and speculators? At a price point where $300 only gets you 10 of these, it becomes very risky...I mean, what if the core fans who even want to see and own this movie on Blu-ray will never pay more than $15 bucks for it, preferring to stream instead?

I could be wrong about the depth of Night of the Living Dead 1990 appeal, but I just don't feel it's in the same league as Fright Night in terms of a passionate 'must have' cult horror following. Actually, I'm mainly just curious to see this movie again, and am admittedly a TT completist, so I will pre-order it like any of them. Otherwise, there's no way in h3ll I'd be willing to pay $70 to $100 bucks for this title in the aftermarket. I think any speculation that does occur, might be over-optimistic about its downstream profit potential.

Of course, I didn't think I'd see lots of stuff go OOP, and then go wildly through the roof. So take all that with a grain...

Idk... I think this has a lot of potential to be a big aftermarket seller.

I bought an extra copy of 'Journey' when it was about to sell out and decided to just sell it on eBay and I got $71 for it.... I think cult horror titles have a more rabid fanbase so I expect this film to fetch at least that.

But you didn't buy 100...representing a cool hard $3000+ out of pocket investment up front. That's my point about how the initial higher-than-average price for these TT Blu-rays naturally curbs speculation.

As for the potency of this title's fan appeal, like I said, take my previous comment with a grain... NOTLD90 never was a biggie for me, although I did like it when I originally saw it theatrically. Haven't seen it since though.

You know... now that you mention it... the SAE page does kind of look like somebody's old Myspace page!

I always found it an odd looking duck... kind of screams "we don't make enough to update our Web site" right from your screen.

I hear what your saying, I missed out on Fright Night, and it seems like there is no shortage of new sealed copies for $100 plus, they seem to keep poping out of the woodwork, as much as I like the movie there's no way I can justify the price.

Look at those Amazon and eBay numbers again Joe. Not that many, just a handful popping up here and there. I still think horror fans and collectors accounted for the overwhelming majority of its original sales, as will be the case with NOTLD90 too.

With that said, I wouldn't be dragging my feet too long after the pre-order for this one goes live.

All the people who've complained about reselling have obviously never been inside of a comic book shop. Or a pawn shop. Or a jewelery store. Or your local farmers' market. Or Wall Street. Or a bodega. Or at a gas station on the edge of the Mojave. Or....

Oh yeah, I forgot. Capitalism is our way of life on this planet.

Those of you who are reading this and miss out on this release have only yourselves to blame, as I'm certain that we all will have the chance to purchase as many as we like. . . . .including those mean ol' scalpers.

It's always amusing to see the same people hyping up a Twilight Time release, fear mongering about the possibility of a quick sellout, and then watching as days turn to weeks, and weeks to months with the title still being in stock.

To be fair... IF hoarding and scalping were the norm rather than a blip, capitalism would NOT work.

Capitalism works when supply and demand are in balance... When demand exceeds supply, prices go up... when supply exceeds demand prices go down.

Hoarders and scalpers are manipulating the free market by cornering some portion of the supply and making it appear that supply does not meet the demand... thus resulting in falsely rising prices until the market breaks... then the "hidden" supply gets dumped back on the market and everyone sees that supply exceeds demand... and prices tank.

So, while capitalism does allow for hoarding and scalping... those things are a bane to the free market... and the market does self-correct for these things. Like "hot potato" pray that you are not the one holding extra copies when the market corrects!

Well then the scalper will just sell them for what they originally cost and break even. People might be buying a few extra copies here and there for themselves but no one is buying over say 10 of them. It's far too expensive and really only 2 have been worth it. Oh no im talking about this again....

When scalpers are stuck with supply... they tend to dump and run... meaning, they sell for below cost to move the inventory and get cash and invest in the next big thing.

That's what I'm hoping doesn't happen for those who care about these movies retaining value. No skin off my nose either way... but if you want your movie to retain value, you have to discourage hoarders and scalpers and speculators.

Today you see a movie for $100 on eBay... how many times will that guy relist it unsold before lowering the price? Once you see him lower the price, you know you've won... and you wait him out until he is under his cost, because nobody wants to hold inventory forever.

You're better off eating a loss, taking the cash and moving to the next thing, than being stubborn and holding things that you haven't been able to sell.

Lol no they are not.

It's safe to buy the blu from them, but they're reputation isn't really a good one. They're customer service is HORRIBLE. I bought a cd from them and had emailed asking why it hadnt shipped a week later and the guy got really sh*tty with me. I thought it could've been a fluke until I read thru posts on here and saw others said the same.

Honestly I HATE giving them business because of that.

I'm not a fan of the Savini film and have only minimal interest in Enemy Mine, but I'll certainly buy both, if only to watch each once and then make a nice profit on eBay later.
