I don't fully rely on screencaps, but they do serve a purpose. EE and DNR can still be gauged with screencaps. Perhaps not the exact degree, but enough to make some good judgment usually.

This is my 2nd or 3rd timie explaining this so ill just re-post the last ****ing explanation i did for my picture that people keep posting *the one taken by the digital camera*.

" FYI, I took that pic. In my original post I even said I was just snapping a picture with my camera and had no fancy software to do screencaps. I was just posting a picture of both the bluray and one of the dvd. Neversaid in my original post this is exactly what it looked like. I was posting to show how NOT CLOSE it was to the original picture on the dvd. Then other people started taking my photos and posting them everywhere as evidence."

I was not trying to DECEIVE anyone. I had just gotten home, popped in the bluray, got pissed at what i saw and snapped a couple pictures. I think my nikon is even set to vivid. I learned my lesson as i will now leave that to the professionals here to post their much better screencaps. It is definitely not AS blue as in my picture. I took many pics trying to get a good image and thats the one that came out best. Wasnt meant to be "hey heres an exact look at how it is.". Im not a tech junkie and i was trying to be helpful. Ive never posted pics or caps here before. Some of you are way too ****ing paranoid. That said, this release is still a s*** sandwich. Im taking mine to walmart today to get that vudu hd copy for 2 bucks and then ill be selling it.

I'm glad I stuck around. Learned some things.. haha.

I've still got my DVD, and I'm a fan of this film, but not a super-fan. I still prefer the original, dawn, and day over any other zombie films.

So, thanks for all the opinions guys, even though I'm a "sheep".. I've still decided ebay is the home for this.

And yes, I know, I could return it. ... But that doesn't make any sense to me. Someone wants it. Have a great week peoples, and thanks for the link to the black cases!

LOL! It does look odd like a solar eclipse! When they first get to the farm house, you can see a large contrast between the shadows on the ground and where the sun is hitting the ground - looks like high noon and it doesn't make sense for the picture to be so dim. I'll be keeping my copy for a few months and then eventually plan on selling on e-bay for a decent profit.

Not really a calibration, but to start with set your TV to Cinema Mode, turn off all enhancement features, Download the AVSHD patterns and copy to a disk, then using the brightness and contrast patterns set to the correct levels. This is a start any way.

Good guide to calibration here:

No, the director of photography did supervise it though... you know, the guy who actually SHOT the film and typically knows even better than the director what it should look like.

This all makes you wonder what would happen if the released a movie that happened to be missing a scene, the scenes suppossed to be there, but Sony accidentally left it out or something. Would Sony go back and fix it and then Twight Time would replace the discs, or would people who bought it just have to suck it up or sell it/return it?

typically knows better but very often they don't (for evidence I present Vittorio Storaro!)
