Blu-ray.com Review is up

(has this been mentioned already? Hard to keep track of everything but I didn't see it mentioned)

They've only sold out of 4 releases (out of 33!), all "good" to "great" films.
I didn't mean the films necessarily, i was referring to the AV quality and extras - Most of them seem to lack in both aspects.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but did he mention anything being blue in his picture review? Seems like his complaint has to do with an extremely dark image.

You're wrong. From my review:

Things are now filtered with a dusky blue
cast (see screencap 2 for a good example).

All of their releases have received a 7/10 or higher for image quality from this site, bar 3 (Demetrius, Cover Girl, NOLTD)

What point? I think TT is well aware that most everyone was surprised by the change and that a decent number of folks are also unhappy with the end result.

How does sending them my copy "illustrate" that more than the dozens of threads out there or posts on their FB? And to what end? Sending it back to them doesn't mean that they're going to start doing the transfers themselves -- their model isn't going to change, even if all 3000 of them come back.

Nor should it, really... it's been fine bordering on great IMO other than this one snafu. And, while disappointing on a personal level since I wanted a good copy of the film, I'll come out of this ultimately making a profit, given the whole silly 'rarity' thing. So... it doesn't make much sense to send it back.

Yea, majority of them score at least a 4/5 for PQ. Pretty solid score if you ask me

I see it now. It wasn't in the review for the picture quality.

I am not specifically pointing you or anyone out. I think it's hilariously sad that people were wanting something done on a Sunday and started with the accusations and stone throwing before anyone had any knowledge of what happened. I've heard everything from poor customer service, quality control, etc but a lot of these people are keeping the blu ray. Seems very hypocritical to me is all. They can do whatever they see fit.

In addition to him saying it in the review, his sub-header for the review is "It isn't easy being blue."

Definitely doesn't apply to me.

I watched it Monday, thought it looked like poo... and then came here to see if people were chatting about it or if I was crazy. Only then did I notice that this thread had exploded. I waited to see if there was going to be a recall/replacement. There isn't. So I'm going to get rid of it. I'm not "sending a message" or anything. I just will not personally watch this version -- I think it looks terrible. So there's no reason to hang onto it.

I don't see how it's hypocritical to sell it to someone else, rather than send it back to the company? It, frankly, seems a little stupid to send it back for just $30 or whatever...

Part of a review from this very site for Bye Bye Birdie..."This is yet another revelatory transfer from Columbia-Sony and Twilight Time."

I'm sure TT sent an email to the reviewer to let them know they had nothing to do with the transfer. Right?

To me it appears you are making a generalization in order to garner agreement ("right on, man!"). Which is fine, if you have actual examples in mind. But I think if you went through this and the other thread trying to piece together who reacted with "accusations and stone throwing" and is now keeping their copy "hypocritically", you would have a tough time of it. You would have to find someone who said they were returning it and now aren't.

How's the quality of the DVD? This was one film that I never really watched all the way through way back when, but now with all the hubub I might give it another chance and buy the DVD if it looks decent.

Maybe they did?

Just because a mis-informed reviewer posted an inaccurate fact - which should be a reviewer's job to get the facts right, if he/she wants validity as a critic - doesn't mean they "took credit" for a transfer. C'mon, reaching for an argument doesn't mean one exists.
