You would have to find someone who said they were returning it and now aren't.
There's nothing that's been agreed upon since this came out, so that's def not the case.

From the As Good as it Gets review. "This continues Twilight Time's generally superior track record in releasing high quality high definition transfers." Well yeah, they are releasing it but...they have nothing to do with it!

...but that's all that sentence says. That they release high quality transfers. Nothing else.

Maybe the NOTLD review could've said "This derails Twilight Time's generally superior track record in releasing high quality high definition transfers."

I wish the same level of acknowledgement that TT doesn't do their own transfers also carried over to Mill Creek. I've seen no shortage of people blaming Mill Creek for a such and such being a bad transfer when in reality they're not doing any mastering themselves, and are essentially doing the same thing as Twilight Time.

Because many of their releases are terrific, ironically NotLD is one of the worst films they've released and proably one of the "least necessary" since an outfit like Mill Creek or any random horror label would have gladly picked it up via licensing - and in the latter case probably would have done a better job (extras, color changes, etc). But it's still pretty good, and even the PQ would probably be good if it wasn't for the tint applied over the top.

If you doubt them, go check out Rapture (completely hidden gem with great PQ), Big Heat (all time classic, with great PQ), Swamp Water (1940's hidden gem, very solid PQ), Bell Book and Candle (solid PQ, fun little semi-forgotten film), The Egyptian (never released to home video, solid PQ) These Magnificent Men and their Flying Machines (reference PQ, fun movie), etc.

Out of all the Twilight Time films I've purchased, this is really only the 2nd one I've been truly disappointed about - and that I feel Twilight Time should have addressed the PQ changes on the front end. The other film I was disappointed about was Wayward Bus, but that was more about the fact that I thought the film itself was truly awful - not so much about the job Twilight Time did. From what I could tell the PQ/AQ was actually very nice on that one as well.

The funny thing is it's probably these "bad" films that help keep Twilight Time in business.

The thing with Mill Creek though, and I know they are not echo bridge, but they are still more likely to squeeze 2 films onto a 25GB disc, or to have issues with incorrect aspect ratio or using an inferior soundtrack even to what was on DVD.

I admittedly don't have a huge amount of experience with them, off the top of my head they did a very solid job with the Daimajin trilogy and at an AMAZING price. So I will give them that. At the end of the day, I would certainly like to see Mill Creek get their hands on more Sony titles - but only if they are going to release them as individual blu-rays - not as random "double features".

Absolutely. Not that they are "bad", but clearly they are the least necessary. As other's have speculated, they will probably only take the COMPLETELY under the radar film, if they can also get their hands on an equal number of more popular films (i.e. for every 1 Egyptian or Swamp Water, they need a Fright Night or NotLD to sell out relatively fast). It's the only way the numbers work to make it a viable business.

They are probably surprised that something like As Good as it Gets wasn't a sellout title.

What Millcreek titles have incorrect OAR and subpar audio? I thought Millcreek was decent. It's Echo Bridge that sucks.

I'm seriously considering it. Although I'm a newbie, I have tons of trades on horrordvds you can check (same user name). Give me a day or 2 to mull it over, or if you don't wanna trade with a newbie PM me a no thanks.

BTW, everytime i shut the window and come back to log on, I'm gone. Email not recognized, user name available (2 times so far) and so forth. Any idea why this is happening? I clicked the link to activate, do I have to post in another forum first?

Probably because the types of people that would buy a limited edition blu ray from an on-line site like Screen Archives are more into genre films then they are Oscar winning films. I like As Good as it Gets but it's the type of film that I saw it once, and never thought of watching again. Never owned it, and never will. I mean same thing happens with film scores from sites like Intrada. If it's a music score to a 70's/80's/90's genre film done by a big name, it sells good. Other scores don't sell as well unless there's a big name composer attached to it.

How would you have liked to not have stuff like The Walking Dead or Darkman? They all owe their make-up techniques to this film!
