The score is a way to measure the reviewer's opinion. Being it's quantitative, to me, this represents a score he's happy with. I'm not sure why it's being argued. If he didn't like it, why would he not give it a 30? It's an opinion.

If Blu-ray.com gave it a 4.5/5 for video and kept the same description intact, would you say the score measures the opinion provided accurately?

I watched some Tales from the Crypt season 2 episodes last night, and in ep. #18 "The Secret" it had color timing just like this new version of Night. It looked just as bad too, with the blue tint on everything, but was obviously supposed to be day for night as it involved vampires. Took me out of the story and I just started thinking about the Night disc again when I saw it, and it kept repeating the same horrid effect.

If you are going to do day for night, don't do it at high noon with harsh short shadows and sun glare bouncing off everything and anything half-way shiny! Wait for cloud cover or late day. Long shadows get lost in good DFN shots, short ones pop out.

Man, this thread has really run its course. Now you guys are arguing over the intended meaning behind a review's numerical score on another site? Give it up, already. Move on.

Being it's an opinion and he thought it was an ok transfer, I have no problem with him awarding it this score. If he hated it (which is not the tone I gathered) and he gave it a high score, I'd question it. I'm just saying his description (in my interpretation) backs his score just as this site's did.

Agreed. It's pretty silly actually.

Clinging to shadows, grasping at straws....

Cause shadows only happen during the day and never occur at dusk or night. And no one ever forgets to turn on their headlights before sunset especially when they're scared out of their minds.

Perhaps they meant the Scales of Injustice?

I agree with you. A Score that high tells me nothing is really wrong with the transfer and I should have no worries.

This replicates the effect of a night with a full moon after the eyes have adjusted to moonlight. This is one of my favorite episdoes actually.

Not everyone has a problem with the transfer....! It's all matter of personal taste. That's all any review really is I'll go as far as to say some people even LIKE the transfer and the changes

You can't really praise the reviews you agree with and completey disregard the reviews that you don't with unfounded speculation. People people people....

Yeah, but moonlight doesn't bounce or glare off foreheads and/or metal like sunlight does. It is a good episode (I can't name one ep I hate, some aren't great but all are at least entertaining), but bad DFN is distracting at best to me, esp. when it's so obvious. Thankfully those shots stopped before the lovable twist.

Update from SAS' FB page:

UPDATE FROM SAE'S NEWS FEED:

October 5 - We are receiving a number of inquiries from fans who missed out on NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 1990 Blu-ray initially, and would now like to obtain a copy. A very limited amount of copies will be available again on October 26th, 4pm EST. These will be limited to 1 per customer, and to those who had not previously ordered one from us. We will not be adding any more customers to the waiting list, but those already on it will be notified.

Another update:

So just to reiterate, those already on the "waiting list" will be notified, but as of now no additions to the waiting list. This is because we are only expecting a very small number of returns, and the excess copies will be put up for sale at 4 pm EST on Oct 26th. We will continue to remind fans as the date gets closer.

General math. This was a limited of 3000 copies that, by Twilight Time's own admission, sold out. What else could it be?

So much for the people who bought multiple copies and are now trying to sell them at inflated prices on Ebay too!

It is pretty nice to have it on Blu though. I did a few comparisons with my DVD, mainly to see the colour difference, and my eyes nearly dissolved from how completely shite it looks. Sharpened pixelated mess, at least compared to the Blu. Same goes for Bram Stoker's Dracula, heck, even Star Wars. Revisionism sucks but overall, the Blu-ray IS a better representation of the movie, just by virtue of the fact it actually looks like film.

I paid the $30 for my copy and while I don't think it's the best transfer in the world, i think it's decent and I too think its nice to finally have it on blu.... And I'm happy with my purchase.

Nobody "bought" me off for my opinion. Why does it have to be any different with a review JUST because they got a free copy. I just hate conspiracy theory arguments. They don't usually hold much water, IMHO.
