IF Twilight Time cared, they would have alerted people to the color change on the day it was pre-ordered

as much as I loathe how they handled it thye had no clue what it even LOOKED like originally, they aren't horror fans, they just grabbed it from sony and slapped it on a disc

Just had a hard time breaking the Blu Ray region code on my now multiregion (ABC) Panasonic player so not had time to watch NOTLD yet.

Fright Night was not worth $280.00 on the secondary market at the same point in its lifespan. It's crept up to that price point because it's been out for so long and because people have elevated it to the absurd heights of the holy grail of BD collecting. Fright Night has been as hysterically over praised as Night of the Living Dead has been as hysterically demonised. Night of the Living Dead is still a desirable BD to own for horror fans and given time will also creep up in price once the copies decline in availability as each movie collector gets their hands on a copy one by one. There are only 3000 copies of each BD (or 2999 because I own a copy of each that will never be sold) and they will find their way into the hands of collectors eventually who don't part with their collections cheaply.

* Many more of the presales were purchased with the intent on re-selling.
* Increased supply of copies for sale due to legit customers who were dissatisfied with the transfer issues
* Decreased demand due to the poor reviews and word of mouth due to the transfer issues
* Purely my opinion, but overall NOTD '90 doesn't have the same cult following as Fright Night

Although I'm disappointed with what happened to this release I'm glad that the prices have not followed the Fright Night model. Maybe future releases will have the 3000 copies wind up in the hands of actual collectors instead of re-sellers. If NOTD would have consistently sold for $80+ after release then Christine and other titles would sell out so quickly it would be difficult to get a single copy unless a limit were imposed.
Well whatever the case I would certainly jump on Christine as soon as possible. That will sell regardless of the NOTLD debacle.

Only the hardcore fans would pay a ton for this and hardcore fans that are willing to drop 60-100 bucks want it PERFECT and to be fair I would too for that price. Luckily I sold my 1 copy after hearing the bad news and I did it before all the bad reviews came out on the sites so I got a good price on it.

And Christine (and presumably every other title TT will ever release) won't have any color timing controversy.

But hopefully someone will play the greatest practical joke ever and darken and blue a screenshot of Christine and put it out before pre-order. It will be fun watching this place riot.

You could have waited to break it until after you watched it, the NotLD90 disc is region-free.

A lot of TT titles require firmware updates to work, so I believe he's saying if he updates his FW he loses the region free hack he applied

Not something I have had to deal with thus far and I have a fair share of TT titles by now.

Picked me up wrong i was meaning i spent to much time applying a FW to make my Panasonic player Blu Ray region free and did not get time to watch it. Nothing to do with the film as i know it is region free already

Ah, I misinterpreted too then, though I have heard people saying they can't play it on their region free hacked players (like the Insignia) because they need to update it first. There isn't much harm with updating the Insignia at least, as it can easily be reverted back to a region free player; it's just an annoyance to have to do so

Well finally got round to watching this for the first time and jeez what IMHO is a lot of fuss about nothing. The picture quality from start to finish is great and no where would i say looked to dark or to blue but again in my opinion suited the movie perfectly. The level of detail and overall feel of the film was way beyond what i expected and i felt no way did the new colour timing detract from it. A great film and great PQ well done TT and Sony.

I doubt I'll ever get rid of this blu-ray. There's been plenty of controversial limited edition home media releases that people weren't happy about but years later wanted it as a curiosity piece just because only so many were made.

EVENTUALLY NOTLD 90' will be re-released through someone else and when it does I'm sure it will be the original colour timing and everyone will be happy. I highly doubt they will re-release this film with this exact same transfer and colour timing after the massive controversy and hatred it's recieved.

When NOTLD 90' was released it was going for high prices on ebay, then everyone started hearing about how horrible the transfer is and prices started to drop due to lack of interest. I'll bet in the years to come, the value will go back up due to the fact that this limited edition TT release will likely be the only release to sport this colour timing.
All studio's would know now that anyone who would be interested in buying NOTLD 90' has heard all the bad news about the TT release and won't want to buy theirs if it's the same one. Studio's aren't necessarily interested in making fans happy, they're interested in money and if a mass produced version of NOTLD 90' is released with the same transfer, they won't make anywhere near as much money as they would if it was untinkered.
