Because there's nothing to say.
I think all of what I read lately is misinterpretation of the facts. "Younger fans who only saw the movie on DVD" Really? Really, Really? Well I think the cup is full and there is nothing to add to what Vidjunkie said and to his link. There is a HUGE difference between a supposedly brighter sitcom-ish DVD with day for night scenes that were badly rendered and the supposedly fixed BD more true to the original intent. But if you don't want to agree on that, there's nothing I can do for you. What's on the BD does NOT show (no way baby) more true day for night scenes than what's on the DVD. It's the same bad shit but the other way around. The 2 are BAAAAD. It even changes the timeline of the script. No versions (not even the BD) shows true dusk, it's almost darker than at night (on the BD) and brighter than daylight (on the DVD). Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! In regards to the Samsung, make sure you mention what you’re getting at your current Cell Light setting, rather than jacking that up the maximum possible (20? with this particular TV) and then doing the brightness measurement. A show-and-tell YouTube video would be even better. ![]() |

No way do i differ between the two forums in my attitude on both forums. Can you please tell me why you are obsessing about the brightness output of the the Samsung. ![]() |

It’s not obsessing. I'm interested in it, as I said before, to find out if this TV is as useful as other consumer-grade displays for viewing in environments other than dark ‘man caves’.

When you think about it, for better or worse, this release of NOTLD 90' will be one of the most limited on the market, period. When this movie eventually gets re-released through someone else there is no way they'll slap this transfer on a mass produced product. Not after the massive level of whining about it, that it's recieved.
It's got to be one of the most controversial blu-ray releases of all time which is funny because it's generally considered a mediocre horror film. If this was a mass produced product it would of been recalled after this kind of complaining. People only care so much because of the high price tag and the fact that it's limited to 3000 copies. |
