Why are we still talking about this? Vudu.com has a nice HD print which is untampered. Either you pay the high rates on Ebay for the blu-ray, or you purchase the HD title from Vudu.com. Easy!

NOTLD '90 stood out because a lot of the horror happens in bright sunlight, that's what sets it apart. To then go and give it a generic horror film look does it a great disservice IMO.
I 100% agree with you on that, but this movie never had the look they (the Director & DP) intended, so with nothing to go off they (Sony) have given it a modern look and IMHO done it very well, and no where near as bad as some were making out.

Amazon.com instant watch also has a great copy as well that includes the 5.1 track. Don't know if Vudu is 5.1 but Amazon is!

This was a tepid remake that lacked suspense or horror! The only thing working in it's favor is Tony Todd. The stunt woman playing Barbara (Yes! They spelled it correctly in the credits this time out!) is horrible and instead of a shrinking violet, she's now Ripley from Aliens! Tom Towles seems to be playing a crazed Don Rickles/Andrew Dice Clay hybrid! So, I guess it's a bad transfer for a bad film!

How about how it's always looked and when i paid $30 was expecting it to look like if they were gonna make it look like a resident evil movie they should of let true dead heads know about it....i think i speak for alot of people when i say this version just plain looks like crap the whole first half hour after the graveyard scene has a blue tint to it .If you like it great i prefer the dvd version alot better just looks more real to me.

like i said before if you like the blue ray version great more power to you.I on the other hand have only seen the dvd version which is alot brighter in the daytime and not dark as hell in the house it looks like crap to me i was just letting everybody know they can watch this movie in hd which looks like the dvd version. And yes how it has always looked every dvd version everytime it was on tv thats what i mean when twilight came out with this release they put a blue tint to the daytime scenes to try to make it look dark and in the house it's so dark u can barley see tony todd. And if you have to ask what a dead head is your not one of us.

Have they ever explained the logic behind only pressing 3000 units w/o reprints?

Its part of their contract that they're limited to 3000.

I doubt there's more demand than that for this terrible transfer. They're probably lucky they only made 3000 of them.

Here's the interview where they explain their biz, I think. If not google "Twilight Time Interview" and try the next couple links. This was link #1.
