I agree. He won't respond as he wants to stay as far from this smurfed up release as possible.

I don't think that there's anything that can be sone at this point. I didn't buy the BD and I'm content. Plus, the film is young enough that we aren't facing a significant preservation issue of the original version eithout altered color. Maybe in the days of 4k this issue will be rectified. Until then, I'll be content to witness the zombie-killing via the DVD.

I see Savini is listed as a cast member for the forthcoming Nazi zombie film The 4th Reich

Deletions and suspensions in 3,2,1...

Word is Savini cut scenes to avoid an X rating. Where can I find these scenes?

Most are on the dvd, or workprints are/were all over the internet. The workprint I saw was very rough, almost impossible to watch. Not sure if better ones are out there or if all the same. Slightly better than Within the Woods for quality. They look better on the dvd and might be youtube.

There are better versions of the WP out there, I have one, it is an extra on my personal BD, even though it is not excellent by any means, it is watchable at least, I have seen much worse.

lol, well, you can say it all you like but the fact of the matter is that a Blu-ray movie is nothing but a series of still images run at 24fps.

1080p frame grabs or screenshots are PERFECTLY accurate….to analyze static characteristics of the images like color, contrast, sharpening, etc. as I mentioned before. Even if for downloading onto the internet, they are moderately JPEG compressed, they are still very reliable indicators.

Professionals even use higher rez frame grabs all the time for illustrative purposes…. http://www.digital-cinematography.ne...rame-grab.html

P.S.
Following a concussion caused by a crash during a mountain bike excursion, I had my “head looked at” by both an MRI (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...NIMATED%29.gif) and a fMRI….both showed no abnormality.

Depending on we know the exact way in which they were taken as there are so many variables, compression etc, and how they are being viewed. They will be absolutely no use what so ever to analyse colour, contrast etc unless we know this and that they are being viewed on a accurately calibrated display. So i am afraid you are quite wrong in this sweeping statement IMHO.

Yes, buy a studio release for 7.99 and get a corrected version.

Buy the TT release for 29.99 and ?

Happy to hear someone else say this.

I frequently read comments about how screenshots don't accurately represent how a movie looks in motion and it always makes me chuckle.

Screenshots (as long as they are png or reasonably compressed jpg) have always quite accurately shown me what a Blu-ray will look like in motion.

I don't rely on screenshots, to buy my movies period! To me, they're nothing but still photos. If I want that particular movie, I'll buy it regardless. If I solely depend on screenshots as a buying factor, I wouldn't buy any blu-rays at all.

I don't rely on screenshots to buy movies, period, as well!

I like to look at them to know what the transfer looks like though. And they are always accurate

No deletions of the original insulting Stalker and Smurfed in the Head comments directed towards me nor suspensions of the insulting forum members. Methinks favoritism.

Well without the blu-ray in hand to see what the transfer looks like, screenshots are neccesary.

NOTLD 1990 Twilight Time Blu-ray release differs enough from its theatrical release due to the darkening of the transfer, that I will keep my dvd and wait for an accurate release. Besides barebone releases just don't interest me, unless they are $5 specials.
