Yea I know! I just wanted to get rid of it. Was that before or after Amazon deducted their 15% commission? If it was after, you've only got $59.50 of the sale. 15 % is quite a bit, which is why I no longer sell on Amazon anymore.

Which is strange because on Vudu (and I think Hulu), the HD transfer resembles the DVD. I paid the $5 to upgrade the DVD to the Vudu HDX (1080p) version.

it's an older master they used there. the VUDU and other HD channels don't have the new master yet from what I've gathered

You know I actually was able to watch this on a LG LED Projector. I turned down the blue color option to a full -50 and this movie looked much better to me. Aside from the blue this bluray has fine detail and sharpness and is not to much dnr. It really looks good aside from the whole color scheme. You can tell it looks great the first 4 minutes of the film.

I bought a new copy a few months ago from a fellow blu ray.com member for a very reasonable price. I finally got around to watching it and yep... It's blue lol. Some scenes look much worse the others but it's pretty distracting. Its a shame this didn't get a proper release but I have a feeling this is as good as it will get for a while. Maybe for my next viewing Ill mess with the color settings on my tv and try to make it look better

Interesting to see the prevailing comments, a year and a half later, are mostly negative. A lot of people were arguing for the blue tint when it first came out. My opinion remains the same: blue tint does not a day-for-night make, and Patricia Tallman is not a smurf!

As for Fright Night and Christine... $50 is my limit for any one movie no matter how much I might like it. So, both are off limits to me now with what they fetch in the secondary market. My only hope is that they get some kind of future release even if it is another 3000 from TT (which I would be content with if I could snag a copy). Again, it sucks to miss out on a TT title when it sells out; I can live with the pricing. |

The DP is certainly right to be angry if he's not satisfied.
I'm still with Savini though -- the blues might be slightly oppressive at times, but it still looks pretty terrific. And the DVD's brightness doesn't do much to create a spooky atmosphere. |

I consider the matter mostly settled with Prinzi's statement. Some unknown Sony technician went overboard with the new color correction and this is a flawed transfer that leaves the possibility open for a better transfer down the line.
