I always liked this version of NOTLD. I would love to have a Blu-ray that was correctly color timed. But this one looks really extreme. I don't have this one but just going by the screen shots. Maybe we can get an 'overseas' release soon?

Well I can't understand how everyone can't see this is just to dark and blue, but then you have the other side thinking the DVD was right, well to me this is just as bad but going the other direction, it is way to bright for a Horror flick, right in between the 2 really does wonders, and really works well.

As I said the way it stands at this point in time until a proper restoration is performed from correct elements we may never know the full story. |

I blame persistent flat earth myths on that Kansas album cover. ![]() Last edited by oildude; 02-22-2014 at 07:48 PM. |

It still looks bad in motion I watched the disc once and sold it off, not worth upgrading from the DVD. I am hoping a UK release happens soon with proper colour timing.

He admitted during a convention to a trustworthy forum member on these boards that it was not the best presentation he thought it would be, but he found it "ok", and seems to not really care, as much as a lot of directors who made their movies and then move forward to another project and don't really care about their past work. It really confirms to me that Tom Savini is not one of those directors who enjoy working on the video presentation of their movies. He already didn't try to get involved in the past DVD production (ending in an an overly "bright" disaster), and he sure didn't try to get involved in this new BD production (ending in a "too dark and too blue" catastrophe) This, plus the new point of view from the DP and I think it really should end the blabla about this release. It's cool, it is (was) available, I'm glad I have the blu-ray, because I love the movie, I find the result admittedly easy to improve for a further possible european release or anywhere else, like Vidjunkie said, something in-between the old DVD and this BD. Now everything else is BS to me, and you can keep on criticizing everyone who don't think the same as you do, or keep trying twisting facts so that you can make it sound like you're right and everyone else is wrong. Still it's not the best presentation every fans of the movie hoped it would be. Quote:
