Different rights holders are involved so unless sony decides to release it in another country I doubt it's gonna get released. They have sit on Fright Night for 3 years (?) and still haven't released it anywhere else on the planet

Recently re-watched the 1990 NOTLD (for only the second time). This is a truly great & underrated horror flick. The zombie make-up is all amazing, and all of the leads were great as well. And, though most of the film is very similar to the original, I liked how some details were slightly changed to make this less predictable:

[Show spoiler]The very ending where Ben came out of the basement a zombie (presumably he had been bitten at some point prior to going in the basement) & was taken out was a shock since I was expecting to see the ending of the original, where Ben survived and was mistakenly taken out because he was thought to be a zombie. Also, I thought it was interesting to see Barbara take out Cooper..

[Show spoiler]Ben wasn't bitten. He'd been shot by Cooper. He died from his wound(s) and came back.

The amount of people who comment about this movie wishing it to come to blu-ray you would think a higher up person would look at this and say we should just release this movie for everyone. At least give us another "limited edition" steel book or something but only more than 1000 copies this time around for the fans.

I remember the frenzy this forum experienced with this release and after rewatching the blu the other day, I don't hate it. Yes I would prefer the original look but all in all, I'm happy I purchased this blu. Here's hoping for another release some day down the line.

I'm glad I only had to pay $35 dollars to Twilight Time instead of dealing with shit bags like this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Night-of-The...item35c02f03b7

The transfer's color is off but it does have great clarity and detail.

$99 is a joke for this awful release. It sold as low as $31.99 (including shipping) on June 2nd. The most recent highest sale was a "buy it now" at $60. I guess folks like him/her assume most people aren't tech savy enough to search the recently sold listings.

I don't know whats more infuriating. The fact that the buyer is charging $99.00 dollars for one copy of the film, or the fact that he has five copies of the film in one picture.

We should all be enjoying this listing as it's someone stuck with a bunch cuz they got greedy (and stayed it seems ). This is our time to laugh at this, not complain. We all know we either missed the boat or got on it, so whichever you are, enjoy the schadenfreude.

For the people that purchased a copy they ended up with a transfer that is unacceptable. At least the people who were lucky enough to purchase Fright Night and Christine received good transfers. That is why I am so excited for The Blob. The chance to own a TT horror film with a decent transfer has me very excited. Usually Sony does a great job with their transfers.

Anybody have a copy for sale that is reasonably priced? Opened or sealed, doesn't matter to me. Jumped on the blu ray wagon far to late! Lol!

Do you know about the awful blue tint on this blu-ray release? I recommend getting the DVD (good quality for a DVD) and there's a nice featurette, which didn't carry over to the blu-ray release. If you must have HD, I recommend getting the HDX version from vudu.com since it doesn't have the awful dark tint.

It's a good thing you jumped on the blu wagon late, it likely saved you from jumping on the blue wagon on time. Don't do it.

Today I was at the Days of the Dead horror convention in Indianapolis where Tom Savini was a guest and I asked him if he's seen the blu-ray and what he thought of it. He said in his opinion it looks absolutely beautiful. When I asked him if the color timing was correct as to the original theatrical release he said that he could'nt remember but that he loved the color timing on the blu ray though. during his panel discussion though he talked about originally not liking the movie because of compromises he had to make for budgetary reasons and that he did'nt watch the movie for years until recently so he obviously doesn't remember what it looked like originally or what it has looked like for years on video. but he did give the blu ray his endorsement. Thought I'd pass on this info

Keep checking Ebay etc it comes up from time to time. The PQ is very good if not darker than some are used to, but Tom Savvini liked it and it seems nobody truly knows the original colour timing intent, so that's good enough for me.
Go get it if you can you won't be disappointed.

Yeah, but just some camera clicks (think Texas Chainsaw opening sounds) in the end that you won't even know are missing unless you are a mega-fan who's watched the film over and over. The sound cues are a non-issue compared to the in your face dark-blueness of the picture, and the rest of the soundtrack is 100X better than the 2.0 on the dvd. When the zombie siege is on and the bass is bumping, it's a thing of audio beauty!
