The good thing about it being stretched like this though is that it's easy to rip and de-squeeze, at least. If it were cropped weird or something it would be unfixable.

Anyone know if JB charges when you order or when they dispatch?

You don't even necessarily need to rip it. Some TVs have an "Aspect" button on their remotes that will squeeze a 16:9 image into 4:3. If your TV can do that you're pretty much good to go.

Ordered! This remake is of the same caliber as The Thing (1982) and The Fly (1986) in terms of entertainment value IMO. Can't wait to add to my collection.

I'll have to agree with you on The Fly, but I'd disagree with The Thing. NOTLD and The Fly I would consider equal to their originals (or very close), but to me The Thing is just one of the best horror movies ever made and surpasses the original by quite a distance. The original is good, and a classic in its own right, but the 1982 version is kind of the gold standard in the genre.

Of course, that's just my opinion but I more than understand the sentiment. And I too can't wait for it to be in my collection!

I feel the same about The Fly remake as you do The Thing. Both remakes feature great scores, terrific actors and genuine suspense still to this day that the originals lack. NOTLD '90 is very similar to the original with the addition of magnificent zombie effects.

I have a hunch it would have been mentioned by now if it was region free. $25 total with shipping to get it to the States was too good to pass up. Pre-ordered.

On the link you asked from, click details on the page and it says Region B. Not sure how accurate that is, it also says it's 188 minute runtime.

188 mintes is about right for the 2 separate features combined.

Did Umbrella's previous NOTLD 68' Blu have the same transfer as the Happinet release?

Might go ahead and pre-order the limited just for the reflections doc.

Even better if you just go for the standard edition. I already have the JP release of the original.

Will the standard version have a reversible cover? Already have the original NOTLD and can't be doing with that horrible ratings logo.

I've imported with them to the uk and they charged after/on dispatch not at the time of preordering.

No. Subs/ HoH Caps only on 1990 Savini flick, not the original Romero '68.
