I can confirm several Australian releases that are marked region B on JB' s site that are A compatible as well. Psycho Complete Collection, The Killing/Killer's Kiss, The Fury, Lifeboat, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, To Sir With Love, the list goes on and on.

Was considering the limited but as I already have the Happinet edition of NOTLD 68, I'll probably just order the regular edition to replace my Twilight Time edition with the original presentation.

I can't believe TT's Night of the Living Dead 1990 is from a 4K scan. It looks really bad, maybe they scanned a release print. Did they ever mentioned any detail about it?

Despite the blue filtering, the actual PQ is quite good on this release.

Yeah it's just that blue tint actually kills some detail.

Well, to me it looks like a telecine. Just like Shout Factory's Knightriders and Blue Underground's The Crazies. Anyone can find an original source from TT regarding this release being from a 4K scan?

Personally, I've never liked DVDcompare as an accurate source for specs, other than for comparing special features.
I've updated to MPEG-2 and removed what appears to be an incorrect, and confusing note, about the Optimum release.

As with any user built database, mistakes happen despite our best efforts and various things in place to reduce as much as possible, so apologies for this.

Is there any chance that they added the blue filtering to try to get the same effect as the Evil Dead Herold laserdisc?

Pre-ordered the limited edition NOTLD. Just hope we can get some information if it's region free or not. If its region locked I'll cancel.

OMG, I didn't release the filtering was that bad! I have the TT release and never opened it after hearing about it. It took all the expectation away. Now I guess I'll just sell it.

I love me some NOTLD '90 (saw it in the theater way back when, even though I was underage) and avoided the TT version because of the blue tint issue. Can't wait...
is this pre-order already sold out? please help

There are a few different version with the Australian release.

Here are the direct links:

Firstly the standard release -
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/movies-tv-...g-dead/936252/

The limited edition -
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/movies-tv-...dition/889426/

If for some reason those links get lost just do a search for the film at https://www.jbhifi.com.au

Now, Umbrella, the company that will release these editions are set to Region B. Whether it will be locked to that exclusively we will have to wait and see until the discs are released.

But as we are all serious collectors I'm sure everyone here has a region-free player so it doesn't matter which region the disc is locked to.

Have fun!

I am assuming the Australian release fixes the other problem which was some sort of issue with missing audio.

From HDF:

Quote:
When Cooper first takes hold of the shotgun and fires until it's empty, an audible clicking is discernible, clearly, but when he is upstairs after a frantic, short reload and again runs empty, the hammer click is incredibly muted, to the point that it sounds like it were erased from the mix, with just a ghost of it remaining. The DVD edition isn't blatantly loud, but it's much more apparent than this. Additionally, I can also confirm that once the film is over, and we flash over a few still photographs (in an orange tint) before the main credits, the camera snapshot sound with each transition has been removed.

Just noticed now that Amazon.ca has a listing up for the Umbrella release. $23.11 Cdn at the moment. Says "import", but makes no mention if it is region locked, or region free. I'll take my chance on ordering it through them. And if it is locked, I can just return it hassle free. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01...A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB
