Not necessarily.

Screen Archives only began offering the ultra limited (to 100) editions of Fright Night signed by the Director (Tom Holland) that you could get for free if you ordered a certain amount (100 bucks) only 3 days after the official release date (which was weeks after the pre order date.) Those who would've qualified for the free signed copy had they waited were told they did not qualify for it unless they ordered after the offer was made available.... I was one of those people. That signed copy is worth about 50 or 60 bucks more than the standard one now.

I ended up ordering an additional 100 bucks worth of stuff after that offer was made and got a free copy signed by Holland. I could sell that copy now and cover the price of the 3 additional titles (Egyptian, Picnic, Mysterious Island) I oredered to qualify and the original copy of the standard Fright Night that I pre ordered.... and have some left over.

And when did they announce that? Close to release?

And would be cool to have an autograph of Savini.

Here's the post from earlier with the exact dates in it.

Something to think about when deciding when exactly to order this one.

That's pretty interesting...
I think I"ll be all right. I just want the movie because I love watching it and I don't mind not having an autograph, but if or when they offer it, that'll be awesome for the folk who get it!

Just buy what you plan on actually watching . I am in for two, but one is for my younger brother.

Although when I add 3000 Egyptians to my cart, it changes the total to 749.

The same exact thing just happened when a few thousand Egyptians were added to our embassy.

I don't see a Savini autograph adding much appeal for most horror fans. He's at damn near every convention , in the past he's signed for free as well

Holland is not a convention regular.

Hopefully any future signings will be done with the actual disc art, and not the booklet (Fright Night) or the disc cover (Mysterious Island).

That's probably not the best idea, considering the kind of "pen" they have to use for signings. They can't use standard Sharpie ink because the disc art (and cover art) is typically so dark that they end up having to use those markers that use a material closer to white out or paint than actual ink (it was bright silver for Fright Night.) That stuff can be worn or flecked off pretty easily if it's disturbed.... and BD players spin discs extremely fast as they play back. If it were signed you wouldn't be able to watch it without risking wearing away the signature.

the only issue with the Holland version, which obviously they can't do much about is that is was opened. Some people that doesn't matter to, at least he didn't sign the disk, that would of been bad.
