I'm on the fence with this title. Decent flick but I'm not crazy about TT using the limited edition model that is used with soundtrack CD's. I'm fine when it comes to soundtracks because of the very limited appeal. But this $35 buck thing for an almost bare bones Blu-Ray. I'm sorry...they have to do better. I was going to get Mysterious Island but that thing was $40 bucks! Laserdisc days all over again. I just could not pull the trigger. Such a mixed reaction with this company. Would these titles see the light of day if TT didn't release them? I do have to give them kudos for releasing some rare stuff. I bet they never sell out of say Rapture in three years time and I'm sure they know it. Some titles seem to be a labor of love. Others, like Night of the Living Dead are bread and butter. I'm not sure if I admire TT or resent them.

Well, you need 'bread and butter' releases to fund the films that won't sell out. If they didn't release some popular movie (fright night, NotLD, journey) they wouldn't be able to give us some great but under appreciated movies (rapture, swamp water, etc...) I admire their business model.

I just saved $35 by not buying this... and instead will buy Halloween III from Shout + Ed Wood and with the remaining $2.02 will buy a couple of burgers to eat while watching the movies!

Seriously though I wonder how many of these copies are going to actual collectors and how many are going to those trying to make a buck on ebay. After hearing these numbers I thought about grabbing an extra copy and sitting on it to see what happens but I didn't. It would be interesting to see how flooded the secondary market is with these. I bought mine early and just woke up to read over 1000 gone first few hours. I would be a horrible business man though I would feel bad selling it for like 150 to someone well not to bad but would if someone on here really wanted one and couldn't get cuz I bought it.

And that's where my admiration comes in. What I don't get, however, is how Olive Films only charges $20 bucks a pop for bare bones but worthy films and Twilight Time charges $35-$40.

Well I don't know how flooded the after market is really going to get. If someone really bought 50.........wow but I doubt it. That would cost a fortune and while I know this is going to sell out and I believe it's going to sell on the aftermarket that is too big of an investment for anyone to make. The highest I see anyone going is buying maybe 5 extra. Even if they don't sell you can always break even. Although breaking even on 50 of them? Again that sounds crazy.

If this is a pre-order, why Screen Archives already charged me the $34? I thought that was ilegal? I thought companies cannot charge until item is shipped?

What I meant was that even though I am having trouble justifying spending the $34 right now, as the quantities dwindle on the Screen Archives site I'm sure I will feel more compelled to do so.

But you're right. It would be absolutely no different from if I were to just order it now and get it over with. I'm sure I'll wind up doing so before it sells out.

That family should be ashamed of themselves, bunch of low lives. People are not gonna be able to get this film in a couple days. Its gonna be all sold out. This family is buying 50!?!?

I hope that NOTLD remake blu-rays are flying around like monkeys on trees on ebay and amazon, all from people who are greedy and inconsiderate of others.

It should just be a pending charge. The charge should drop off in a few days. unless you're using paypal.

I dont know if charging you for a preorder is illegal though.... i know of a few websites that operate like that (Even though i hate it).
