I agree, a lot of people booed it years ago but it's gotten a cult following. very enjoyable flick. I'm ACTUALLY tempted to order from SAE and get a second one to resell when it goes OOP to make up costs.

I saw it when it was originally released. I liked it but it was not very well received by most audiences at the time. It's a decent remake but not nearly as good as the original.

Oh I agree a 100% the original is still the best but I think out of all the remakes
in the last 20 yrs as far as horror is concerned its one that def holds up!!!

I'm actually one of the extremely rare minority that prefers the NOTLD remake over the original. I vastly prefer the original DOTD over its remake, however. Different folks different flavors.

As far as quality is concerned I really wouldn't worry about it based on how good fright night turned out number one an two its not a super old film so restoration should have been fairly easy just a guess

Not quite.

In my experience, the package will get a USPS tracking number which is useful in that it does confirm that the USPS has the package and it will show it being processed through the postal facility in Virginia.

However, once it passes through the initial process, it won't track.

EXAMPLE: My copy of THE WAYWARD BUS is last listed as:

Depart USPS Sort Facility, September 13, 2012, Merrifield VA, 22081, International Letter

So I know it got to the post office and has been sent. But I won't see anymore information. Late next week, it should show up in my mailbox.

I'm the same way, but I do get a little upset for the people who really, you know, actually want to OWN and SEE the movie because they love it, but they can't because some people bought a whole bunch of copies to sell them for higher prices. That's when it kind of irks me....but anyways, I can't wait to see this again because it's one of my favorites.

I prefer the NOTLD remake to original, Tony Todd's performance was great!

The reason this is selling faster is because people are buying multiple copies. They are hoping lightning strikes twice and they'll be able to sell them on eBay for over $100 like Fright Night. I think they'll be wrong.

same here. the original was definitely great, but some of the dialogue & acting are just about cheesy enough to take you out of the horror state of mind.

No expert, but I believe initially there will be a lot more copies of NOTLD on ebay than the numbers of Fright Night during the same time frames. There's probably more scalpers this time, and they're buying in multiple quantities. Then on ebay, factor in supply and demand... I believe they will be in the range of $40-60 for a while. Could reach $100+ after a year, though, after the numbers dwindle.

Pre-ordered. Quite excited even though I DO vastly prefer the original.

I respect the original Romero movie for what it achieved on such a small budget, but it's not a very good movie. I much prefer the remake, not only for a strong female protagonist, but for Tony Todd's commanding performance.

I also prefer Snyder's Dawn of the Dead to Romero's. Yeah, not a big Romero fan here.

Why would anyone pay $65 for a BD that's available for $35 from SAE?
Because they're too lazy/ignorant to check Google.

Went for the cheaper $7 shipping option which worryingly states that unless you take the $15 or $25 shipping option you are not covered if the parcel gets lost in the post.

Thankfully however there was a Paypal payment option which should cover this problem if the worst happens.

Anyway looking forward to receiving this, just out of interest I wonder how the sales of Enemy Mine are going in comparison.
i went for the $15 shipping fee, need to make sure iget them

Sounds about right actually. I still feel like most of those copies are going to actual fans though.

looks like we're at 1515 now... of course orders are going to slow dramatically, but i don't think anyone expected they'd sell half their stock in less than 24 hours. even though i've been griping about paying the premium price & needing to keep the DVD for the extra documentary, i might just have to grab this before i regret missing out...
