1) I love me some Pat Tallman.

2) Hate the idea of spending $30 for a barebones release but......see #1)

Behold the new form of the studio propaganda model. Release something in high demand at limited availability then cry foul when it shows up on torrent sites. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an MPAA internal memo sent to all studios outlining this exact tactic. Then hit up the lobbyists on the politicans and demonize the wild west nature of the net, and here comes the Internet police again.

I don't know 'bout ya'll, but I am most definitely buying at least 5 copies, and very likely 10 copies.

Reselling is the key to happiness with these "very limited" editions.

Agreed. $30 is big time for an old movie but this is one of those times I don't give a shit. Must have.

It won't show up on the site until September. They only add preorders to the site about a month out from release.

What's this about a signature? Did they do this with Fright Night or something? Where can I get one???

With Fright Night, when it hit the "only 500 remaining" point they did a sale with a hundred copies signed by the director Tom Holland. You got one if you ordered over $90 (or was it $100??) of Twilight Time titles.

With Journey to the Center of the Earth, there were 100 autographed by Pat Boone, which went on sale at the same time as the title was available generally.

Each time we come up to a new title being released, there's a bit of hope/worry that maybe THIS one will have 100 autographed by, say, Tom Savini (for NOTLD), or the ghost of Rita Hayworth for Cover Girl. But it's just speculation.

For now

Yeah....I'm gonna have to buy this one.

I've got the DVD and it's a pretty decent disc. I remember stumbling across it in a Suncoast years ago, circa '99 or 2000. (Remember those days back before the Internet was literally at your fingertips? When release dates and preorders weren't so readily accessible? When you could wander into a retailer and actually be surprised to see a favorite film available for purchase?) I remember at the time I was surprised that it got a couple really good special features (commentary, featurette) and I was very pleased with the disc. But I can't pass this up.

I almost ordered "Fright Night" and "Swamp Water", but the hefty price tag kept me away. But being a die-hard undead fan, I have to get this one. For me, owning it and seeing it in high-def is damn near worth the 30+ bucks. Damn near.

I got drunk and took a minute out to actually think to myself which zombie movie I liked the best. The list was: Dawn, Dawn remake, Day, Land, Night, and Night '90 and I've concluded that it's this film.

Yep, forgot to type that one in. But Return is in the list as well.

I think it's one of the best looking classics in Blu-ray form.

I got "Fright Night" and I need that one too!

I'll keep my DVD (Just got a brand new DVD of that movie 2 months ago for $5) for the Special Features and I'll add the disc to the Blu-ray.

I also posted this in the TT thread, but also will paste it here - this is their comment on Facebook about NOTLD - it doesnt look promising for the commentary
Twilight Time DVD Label It'll be light on features as Sony don't like licensing them, and the length of the film is unknown at this time.
