On the flip side, playing devils advocate, how would you feel if you missed out on it and their were no copies available for you to buy at all? At least the secondary market allows for people who really want it, to get it.... Albeit at inflated prices.

One suggestion. Screen Archives has an eBay account of their own, right? To calm the scalping market somewhat they could possibly offer a certain amount of the Twilight Time titles there and add more if sales there goes well. It's not going to prevent scalping once the item/s are sold out but it could possibly calm the waters (here and elsewhere).

Again, just a suggestion... do with it what you please.

Do you honestly believe the people paying $150 for such a movie actually believe the seller paid anywhere close to that for their copy? I'm sure they're quite aware that they probably are paying just a fraction of that. This is Economics 101.
It's the principle of the matter! And of coarse the seller is not putting a gun to the buyer's head, but they're still being conned regardless. Apparently the seller who's deliberately overcharging for these blu-rays doesn't have a conscience because, if they did they wouldn't do it.... If I were doing this to people, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night! That's just the kind of person I am, who's honest.

I can't imagine most scalpers selling theirs before it's sold out

Most, no, but nevertheless scalpers have already started.

People who pay this much for a title on ebay when it's still available are quite idiotic. It says 'Twilight Time' on the inlay

Google it

It has nothing to do with honesty. People really need to give up this line of thinking. It's no different than Best Buy selling something for $10 more than Wal-Mart. If I didn't know any better, would I be being ripped off by Best Buy? Of course not.

lol, it's not dishonest. I honestly tell them what price I'm asking for and they choose to purchase

is it dishonest for Best buy to buy something for $10 and then resell it to the general public for $20??? of course not, it's simple busines.. buy low sell high. Business 101

life isn't fair. it's that simple,

It is no different than any collectible such as coins, stamps, statues, comics, trading cards, etc. People buy low and sell high, based on supply and demand. Using some of the logic I'm reading here, that would mean stock IPO's where only a select few are allowed to purchase and then sell for a higher price to the general population is dishonest... heck, for that matter, selling stocks for higher that you paid would be dishonest. Really, think about it logically and not emotionally. I think that is the real problem... most people complaining have missed out on something and had to pay high prices for it so they don't like it.

"Unethical"? "Sleazy"? "Repugnant"? "Exploitative"?

i was one of the ones who paid a good amount for fright night but i'm not crying about it like some of the other people are... i had the chance to preorder it and didn't so i had to pay the inflated price, it's all part of the game and i understand that... and the way i look at it i can always make more money but you can't just go out and pick up a copy of fright night (and probably soon to be NOTLD) at your local best buy whenever you please

I think it comes down to certain people having this "fairness" complex. where we all get along, sing Kum ba ya and and never profit from anythng. life isn't fair.

Not much. We're talking about the practice of buying surplus copies of a limited item in order to charge an exorbitant price once that item has sold out.

Some might say, "A sucker born every minute," and if it makes them sleep better at night, fine. Or, "Life isn't fair." Right -- deny any responsibility for your actions. Dog eat dog after all, right? Well that doesn't make the practice any less distasteful.
