I don't think there is anything for them to learn, really. They get what they can from another studio, and then release the film in a limited enough quantity that will ensure a profit without spending money on a mass produced product that will only sit on shelves for years to come. If anything, Fright Night taught them how well this model is working for them and will only encourage them to stick with it.

I don't know about several. TT has already confirmed that they have Christine. What else from Sony (horror wise) could possibly sell out that fast? Candyman, maybe The Blob '88...I doubt Body Double would move that quickly.

Happy Birthday to Me is one that I'd love to see, but it's still with Anchor Bay--and probably wouldn't sell that well anyway. Silent Rage--doubtful that TT would release it, and most likely wouldn't be a huge seller. The Bride, Eyes of Laura Mars, When a Stranger Calls '79--none would sell out within a week.

The Blob '88 would be awesome, will get Christine also.

Just pre-ordered a copy. This is the first time I've ordered from these guys, and I'm hoping for great things.

How soon do you think until people start receiving their copies in the mail?

I'd guess about a month. Maybe a short bit more.

They're not horror, but I could see Sony licensing their Godzilla catalog to TT.

The obvious Sony movie that comes to mind is Ghostbusters 2. We know Sony prepared a HD transfer for a Blu-ray release and canceled the BD. I'm not sure Sony would part with it, seeing as it's a part of one of their biggest franchise properties.

Candyman would sell out within a week, without a doubt. I could list several more but I am not being paid by Twilight Time to do their job for them.

Never really thought of Ghostbusters II as horror--yeah, because it's not. I gave you Candyman, and possibly The Blob '88. But that's it for Sony horror selling out within a week. You say you could list several, well then do it. I'm sure TT has access to the same information as you, so it' not like you're doing some kind of great service here.

I don't think Sony would license it out, but man what hell would break loose if they did.

I would officially give up on Sony at that point.

You can actually get the first 2 [REC] films from amazon.ca in a box set. It's quite a good release. Buy it here:

http://www.amazon.ca/Rec-Double-Feature-Blu-ray/dp/B0050N0V74/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1348004320&sr=8-1

Texas Chainsaw: Next Generation I'd be all for, but not from Twilight Time sadly. It'd be more of a curiosity piece for me as I remember not liking it all that much.
