Not necesarily Yankees0222. Everything about this title has been much faster. FN took a day and a half to two days to sellout after that 500 remaining message was sent...this one might night even last through the same evening.

This I don't agree with. Image just put out Sleepwalkers on blu-ray. You're telling me they would pass on Fright Night, Night of the Living Dead '90, and Christine? The irony of course is that Sleepwalkers is probably the least popular of those 4 titles, and it's the only one that got a normal (as opposed to limited) release.

I think he was referring more to the obscure borderline masterpiece films (Rapture, swamp water, etc...) that would not see the light of day if it wasn't for TT. They would have faded into oblivion if TT didn't dust them off and give them a proper release.

Of course many companies would have jumped to release movies like Fright Night and NOTLD90. Thats not really the issue. For me, the issue is TT needs some of these big titles to recoup the money that they are likely losing on the obscure titles.

So if you have to overpay a little for some of these cult horror films, it's completely worth it if we are also getting some of these obscure movies.

Actually, that's exactly the issue for many of us here.

I was referring to the post that you commented on.

He had said that if they didn't release these films (aka the popular titles), then a lot of the other films would not ever get released (the less popular, but just as deserving titles) and you said you didn't agree with that statement.... But it certainly is true.

But seriously, how do you expect a company to thrive on selling only relatively obscure titles that most people have never even heard of? Of course they need these big tent pole releases to justify their existence. Is everyone going to be happy? Of course not. I'd personally love it if I could get fright night and NOTLD90 for $10 a piece.... But they need these fast sell out releases. So if we have to overpay a little on a few titles to get these other great films, What's the big fricken deal?

Completely agree but im not sure why Twilight Time didn't fight harder to have special features for these releases. Seriously if these had more features I doubt you would get as many complainers. I will buy regardless because I like Fright Night and NOTLD and 35 isn't really a big deal. But I would feel better of they had features, especially when Fright Night had 2 commentaries for free on the internet. Yes I know their contract forbids it but perhaps they should have fought a little harder for features, at least on their big releases like this.

No doubt that we should be seeing that email tomorrow once SAE is back in the office now that there is less than 500 copies (489) remaining.

Since when did buying blu-rays become an altruistic act? I personally don't care about many of the titles in Twilight Time's stable. I don't mind that they're releasing them, but when it comes at the expense of some of my favorite movies--that's just pitiful. See what I'm saying? A bunch of us are overpaying for a few movies we love, so some no name company can release a heap of titles practically no one cares about.

That would be better-termed a "labor of love", done by the TT folks because they not only like $$$, they really like movies. Wish I could say the same about bigger companies/studios that sell us crap all day long at the $5 Wal-Mart bins.

Minor curiosity. Is their a seperate SAE mailing list for this? I am on their base one, but never have received the notices when the last two items hit the 500 level.

I just checked Screen Archives, and my cart showed 479 copies left.

Edit: Not sure about the email, but there's your personal update!

Just because Wal-Mart are selling $5.00 blu-rays, doesn't mean you have to buy them. You have a choice. One man's junk, is another man's treasure!

The $35 price is the main issue. People like to pretend it's because of no extras and a limited edition, but if this had some extras and was unlimited but still $35, the complaining would be about the same.

Ordered my copy yesterday. I'm very curious to learn how many people have actually ordered 2 or more copies. I didn't think this particular film was so popular.
