It is a good movie, but frankly its core fans are largely in retirement homes by now. Only the massively popular movies from its era that have gotten extensive and repeated television exposure, are sure things to sell on home video.

The studios have excellent demographic data on Blu-ray purchasers. Let us just say if you are an affluent male in his mid-30s, you are a very typical Blu-ray customer. That's why popular horror movies from that demographic's formative teen years sell out. It's hitting the sweet spot of the purchasing curve.

As for Fright Night and NOTLD90, they are both popular in their own way. Personally I've always found Fright Night somewhat hokey.

It's supposed to be! It's kind of a throwback to hokey vampire films of the 60s/70s. It takes itself just seriously enough for me.

* Fright Night sold out within 2 weeks of the official shipping (so 5-6 weeks after pre-order went up).

NOTLD'90 will sell out tomorrow afternoon probably - It's pre-order went up less than a week ago.

Now at 268

Much faster. Fright Night sold out about a week after it was released (so about five weeks after pre-orders went up). It's taken just over a week after pre-orders went up for Night Of The Living Dead to sell out (which, by now, it's a given that it will sell out in at least 48 hours, if not 24 hours).

I do think that this is likely due to people having "learned their lesson" from Fright Night, along with more of an awareness that collectors have of Twilight Time now.

TT posted on their facebook that there are less than 500 copies remaining of NOTLD. I've decided to just bite the bullet and buy it. If I regret my decision, as it's been previously mentioned, I can always sell it for what I payed for it, if not more. Win Win situation I guess.

Best to get it now before the price doubles or triples.

I hope so, too! I ordered about 20-25 minutes after the pre-order went live.

My question is how long does TT have the rights to these films? I own Fright Night and preordered NOTLD but wanna know when these will go to another studio. These are good but alot more effort can go into these release in terms of features. So I hope we get new editions soon with ton of features.

I guess we can assume Tom Savini will not be signing 100 copies. If they pull this at the last minute people will riot in the streets.

TT stated a while ago that Savini would not be autographing copies for sale.

This is a blind buy for me and after much back and forth I finally decided to buy it.

Didn't want to regret it later when it's double and I didn't pick it up.
