Honestly, if I was in your position I wouldn't be itching to upgrade at all. I have a VT20 and although not a perfect TV by any means, it does 1080p really well and still better than 90% of the TVs that seem to be out bar say the very top end and even then it'll hold its own.

4k movies are light on the ground and HDR has a bit of a standardisation war on. If you're willing to wait it out, the tech is going to get even better, prices will be reduced on E6s too and you'll get a better deal overall.

Then again, it's everybody's own choice and money to spend as they see fir and have their own upgrade cycle timers.

I have a EG9100 (non-UHD) and on thursday I will be getting a C6. If I had a plasma TV I would have probably waited but considering that I have only used projectors for a while and owned no TV at all I feel like there is no best choice.
I gave Vizio a try, but after seeing the pure blacks and contrast of Oled I knew that was for me!

If I'm honest other than the £3000 rice tag the only thing that stopped me getting the C6 was the input lag. I love films but I also play a lot of games not only SP but MP too, so the lowest possible input lag is probably the most important bullet point for me when buying a TV.

The LG OLEDs just didn't cut it this year. They have improved greatly over last year, I'm seeing a score of 34ms for the G series. It just isn't in the elite 16-21ms range of some LED sets. Therein lies why I chose the KS7000 over the C6 as well as saving myself £1500 in the process.

I have no doubt though that in 4 years time OLED will be just as adept and much improved in every possible way and I look forward to getting my hands on one.

I admit it, Oled is not for everybody at this moment. My wife has been wanting a TV since we switched over to projector use 100%. We love the 120" HD display that our two projectors offer, but it is not something practical for casual daytime use, plus lamps can be expensive and running a projector all day can get pricie!

I admit I've seen the E G and C in multiple different stores and they all looked absolutely stunning. If I had the cash I would have been very hard pressed to choose between the C6 and the KS7000.

I dare say if it came to it I would have picked the C6.

The 65" units are very expensive, but at least here in the US we can find great deals on the 55", which is really all we need for the purpose of this TV.
The C6 is the best model for those who love 3D and do not need a soundbar.

I agree. In the UK the 55" C6 is £3000 that's about $3981.90 Where as your suggested $2800 price (less in some places probably) works out to £2109.55. So we are getting the shaft on pricing.

I paid less than $2500 for my C6 and that included delivery. It's all about looking for the best deal for a while. Owning an Oled panel shouldn't break the bank necessarily

That as been my reasoning all the time NOT to buy. I have a 55ST50 which has stunning PQ and 3D (active) performance. Can't wait to see how these sets top that and with passive tech.

Passive 3D on Oled looks stunning. Much better than active 3D on my projectors

Yea, I didn't care much for it on the ZT60 either. All I can say is don't knock it until you've demo'd it in passive on a 4K OLED (and with a reference title and decent movie to boot, like Life of Pi or Hugo).

I don't care much for 3D on my OLED either. The reduced resolution is very noticeable.

I don't see why consumers seem to love Vizio. Most of their models are inexpensive and available in club stores, but I think they are over rated for video quality. I was surprised to see one in this year's shootout..ughhhh.

This is not a dig at OLED but I remember LG being the bottom dweller at the shootouts before Vizio came along. Though I admit I had a good laugh when a Vizio was rated as having a better off axis view than the "SHARP ELITE"...oops

c'mon, Panny,Sony..get off your asses already and put out an OLED...

Why do you have such a personal disdain toward LG Oleds? I understand that you like to hold on to your old plasma, but most of us do not own a plasma or no longer do, and all former plasma users I spoke with are very satisfied with LG Oled-despite being far from perfected as of now.
And it is not true that Oled only shines with specific demos. You can watch any blurays worth a look and you will see how the perfect blacks and contrats play such a huge role in PQ. Motion issues are far from distracting, especially with TruMotion set up properly.
You are like a dinosaur unwilling to evolve
