That doesn't make any sense. You should be able to sit far closer than that.

No I wish. Had to pay $320 for the uhd player.

I wanted the 65" E6 to begin with. But the price difference between the 55 and the 65 was $1500. Making the TV $1,000 over my budget. Amazon offered me 24 months 0%. Which allowed me to get the 65".

Robert has some great prices though. Cheaper than amazon. And offers 18 month financing.

In the end though, the mrs. Wanted me to take the 24 month and get the TV I really wanted.

Amazon must have offered a better deal. That's business.

So you actually believe that? If that is the case all 55" 3D LG Oled users would have the same issue watching at less than 9 feet of distance.
Yes I can roll the TV further away from me. I guess I can try later on when I get home

It would hardly be an imposition for you to try it. If you do push it back and it works, I guess what they are stating is true.

If I had $2.5K riding on a TV, I'd at least give what the manufacturer suggests a go.

I will try that tonight, but I highly doubt that the results will be any different

Just my Panny 60VT60 plasma. Just no other TV out there i would spend 5k+ on . If they made a updated 60" Kuro plasma i would spend 4k maybe.

I bought my brother as a house warming gift the VT 60 inch, it's impressive but from what I've seen OLED G and E series looks nicer. Plasma is done and plasma lovers need to get over it already lol. So I ask again what would you recommend as the best current tv available

I've done a ton of research for the past month. As I was in the markaet for a new TV as well. The only TV I'd recommend, especially at that price range is the LG E6 Oled.

If you chose to go for something else. Just make sure it has both hdr10 and Dolby vision.

A updated 60" Kuro plasma. Seems you did not see where i typed there is no other tv i would buy for 5 to 6k jay let alone 2k ray.

I hate LED so that is out, they don't make plasma so that is out, they don't make CRT so that is out and i don't trust LG with OLED ted.

So again, there is nothing i would buy for any price that is being made today. I don't care about 4k or HDR as 1080p is good enough for the woman i date.

yeah I'm leaning towards it, I'm due for an upgrade. I thought about waiting for what the W series has to offer though, in a few weeks we will find out all details on it

Oh no I saw where you said an updated Kuro, but I guess you missed where I said what would you recommend. You gave me a fictional recommendation then said you wouldn't recommend anything. So since you have zero interest in any current TV available why sit in this thread? do you usually comment on things that you have zero interest in?

Pay no mind to Chas. He's one of those pry my plasma from my fingers when I'm dead types. The only way new tech reaches price points that picky videophiles like is if picky videophiles buy them, warts and all. LG is not bottom rung anymore. Time to push that notion to the curb. What is true is that this is only the second year of UHD OLED (year 4 if you want to count 1080p in the calculation). Robert Zohn already answered what this year's best set is by conducting the shootout this past June.

When I showed the Mrs. the picture of the possible W series and it's magnetic stick on feature, she said, "Now that's a TV worth $5k". But I couldn't wait. Even if its announced in September, by the time it hits shelves it will be close to March. I'd say if you can wait a year, wait for the W. If your like me, and can't wait to see how amazing Oleds are, get the E series. Shoot Robert a PM, he's got some great prices on the E series. I am sure he'd be happy to answer all your questions regarding it too.

best out there isn't always a best buy..I have been to quite a few shootouts and have seen some of the "winners". Patience is tough when you got the bug to make a change...

Yea I've spoke to Robert a few times over the past few months, I'm actually not too far from his store I'm really waiting for the Oppo/Sony UHD player to hit shelves first. I'm not technically in a rush I can always wait but waiting is no fun
