But Panasonic have better calibration controls. Having said that, I'm confident we can get nice flat results on the LG with just two point controls. I'm certainly interested in buying one! Last edited by David M; 02-24-2016 at 04:46 AM. |

Edit: Unless I am misreading your statement, Robert. Are you saying by the “2016 not as fast response” as the input lag being higher (slower)? Because that’s the opposite I am hearing. The 33-34 ms is much improved from the 2015 models. Last edited by Hobbun; 03-07-2016 at 01:43 PM. |

I think he meant to write ...but not the "2015" and that stands true as you said. 2016 seem faster so that's good news for occasional gaming.

I have a question for Robert, is the motion resolution better on the new sets? I saw something that said that these new sets have 800 lines of motion clarity and was wondering if there's any truth to this? I saw the EF6500 and I love the pq on those and if these are that much better then I will be saving up for one!!!

![]() When I read reviews for 1080p TVs, I used to see Plasma TVs resolve 1080 lines of resolution which I took to mean the full 1080p resolution in motion BUT if TVs are now going 4k, shouldn't TVs then be scaling or trying to even more in the motion resolution? Hope that's not confusing. Or stupid. |

4K LCD AND 4K OLED displays offer 3840 x 2160 resolution while looking at still pictures. When it comes to motion all LCD and OLED displays lose resolution (some more then others). DLP ceiling mounted front projectors have no resolution loss at 2-D 4K and 2-D 1080P.
Hopefully OLED motion resolution might improve over the years. |

If all goes as planned the 1st allocation of LG's 2016 65" E6 4K OLED TV will be shipped by the end of the week of April 4th.
$1k less than the G6 Signature Series, with 40watt 2 channel audio, 3 HDMI 2.0A/HDVP2.2 inputs, 1 2016 remote control and available in 55" or 65" this series is the price/performance choice for video enthusiasts. -Robert |

Just wanted to answer a few questions that came up on another forum.
1. Yes, we measured the % of P3 color gamut on a few G6s that are in for calibration at at peak luminance they reached 94% of the Digital Cinema Initiative, P3. Originally I was told they would reach 99% of P3 and that may be accurate at lower luminance, but we only measured P3 at the TV's peak light output. 2. I read speculation on launch dates and even final specs. it's true that it's common for new emerging technology products get delayed, but LG has been on target for the most part and just slighly late on some and even earlier on other models. All spec's are set and will not change. 3. The latest G6s easily reached 755nits peak luminance, far better than the spec LG announced or 600nits. 4. Finally, I want everyone to know that all TVs vary slighly from month to month. Vendors that supply parts change specs as does the TV manufacturer change specs and components throughout the model year. What's surprising is that it's not the latest production that is typically the best. D-Nice tracked the Kuro production and he knows which months are better than others. I've monitored many of the TVs from most manufacturers and we buy in heavily as we see the best production runs. I welcome all questions and comments by phone, email, PM or just posting here on Blu-ray.com. -Robert |

Thanks, Robert.
All the official European documents say 4 HDMI ports for the E6, so LG must be screwing up if your sources confirm 3 ports. The korean preproduction model shown on various LG roadshow events in Germany had 4 btw. It was time to register and thank you for all the information that you're providing to us. Would order from you if I were in the US, but it's a bit too far away. ![]() |
