So they got rid of the tinting issue unless you are watching off-axis? The very slight pinkish tint on the right and left borders is what bugs me most about my OLED TV.
The near-black problem is hardly ever noticeable on content but the pinkish hue is noticeable on every black and white movie.

Here's my take, LG 100% fixed most and greatly improved all of the issues, to be clear that includes every one. The pink and or any other cast is completely fixed. What David and I saw was a slight color shift when we viewed, close to the screen and off axis. I can't say how many degrees off axis we tested the color shift, but it was more than 25% off center and closer than normal viewing distance to the screen. This is essentially a non issue and off axis viewing is far better than any other TV for 2016. Also note that the G6 had no noticeable loss in luminance when viewed off axis.

LG's 2016 4K OLED line-up is a sight for all eyes, videophiles, video enthusiasts, video lovers, gamers, photographers, cinematographers, post and pre-production video houses and all who enjoy the highest quality and performance in all they do.

Robert, do you know how long it typically takes to move from early partners to wider release on these sets? I'd love to order from you, but I have to do a dealer exchange with Best Buy locally for an E6. I'm just wondering how much longer I have to wait.

Robert

Are you going to offer your Quality Control, Break-in and Calibration special on the new OLED's.

This is the only way to buy a TV.

I had you do both my Samsung F8500 plasma and the Samsung JS9500. On both sets, I did not have any of the problems frequently announced by members on the forums.

@Vinny, Along with our store, Value Electronics, Best Buy is also one of LG's lucky nine dealers that were selected for the "Early Launch of the 2016 4K OLED TVs"

@Jim, thanks for asking and the nice reference of our VIP service. Yes we still offer our q/c, proper break-in and professional calibration for Day, Night and 3D in all HDMI inputs.

Since they are a national organization, I presume Magnolia is getting first dibs and that whenever the wider release finally gets here is when the remainder of the BBs (including the tiny satellites) will have pre/order access to the E6/B6.

Not sure how Magnolia and Best Buy share lines, but LG's early launch store demo units are limited to a select few Magnolia stores. I have also seen that sometimes Magnolia/Best Buy gets a few week advance jump on some CE products, but for this LG program I believe the nine selected dealers have equal availability. Now of course, the retailer needs to commit to a firm PO months in advance to even be considered for allocations.

Robert

My idea of putting a black 48"x29" black 1/4" foam on the wall so my wife cold see, worked.

Could you put me on your waiting list for the OLED55B6?

P.S.: She even asked me why not get the 65"? I had to tell her the 65" would not fit. She is a great wife! Now I wonder what she would have said if I had wanted the 77" and told her it was going to cost $25,000.00. I think her answer and attitude might have changed?????

that's a little worrying , wanted to get a G6 ( later on) but since i assume there will be no 55 versions all iv really got to relies on is the E6s - 65 is too big for the space iv got

guess we still have a few weeks to go till we get any data on the E6s ?

This was clarified a few pages back. It was a typo. Robert was referring to the 2015 model as not having as fast a response time. The 2016 models are faster than last year.

Is this confirmed? All I can see was the older 77EG9700 listed as $25K but no pricing on the OLED77G6P.

Yes, I am fairly confident it's all limited to Magnolia. My local plain vanilla BB has no information about the E6 as of last night.

- 55" E6 $3,999
- 65" E6 $6,999
- 65" G6 $7,999
- 77" G6 TBT

Picture quality is very much the same on all four 2016 series. The E6 and G6 share the "Picture on Glass" elegant design, the C6 and B6 look much like the EF9500 series with a brushed aluminum bezel frame. C6 is the only curved screen model.

Audio quality is best on the G6 Signature series with a HK 65 watt per channel 4.2 speaker system. The G6 has 4 HDMI inputs all other models have 3 HDMI inputs.

G6, E6 and C6 are 3D capable and come with 2 sets of passive 3D glasses, the B6 does not support 3D.

G6 comes in 65" and 77", all other series will be available in 55" and 65" screen sizes.

The flagship G6 Signature Series launches first and is available now, 65" E6 is scheduled to ship into LG's select early launch partners the week of April 11th, with the 55" by the end of April.

B6 and C6 are scheduled for the end of June.

Here's a link to a comparison chart I built on LG's website that details all of the differences.

-Robert
Thanks for the info Robert! Do you have an approximate date when the 77" G6 will be available?

Darn, you could be correct. I went on LG's web sire and saw the 77" for $24,999.99 BUT I screwed up and did not look at the serial number.

So sorry.

77" G6 is scheduled to launch in October 2016. $25k is the list price.

65" E6 is shipping first and they are on track to ship by the end of next week and will arrive in our store the week of 4/18. 55" E6 is towards the end of April.

We can expect more news next week and I predict it to be very good news.

Still reading rumors on other forums, like the B6 will be delayed till 2017. Not true, we're still on schedule for end of June 2016.

Other posters are concerned that LG's 2016 "Premium HDR" certified 4K OLED TV will not be bright enough for Dolby Vision. I can assure you that is not the case. In fact, when you see the G6 with Dolby Vision content tone mapped to G6's contrast ratio range the highlights are very very bright and to my liking in a dark room they need to be toned down.

When you put specular highlights next to the 0 MLL that only OLED can do our eyes see the highlights are perceived to be much brighter than they would measure with a meter.

Seeing with your own eyes is the only way to judge these TVs.

Hey, I am in.

I think I am no. 1 of the first 3 who must post to get Robert's special.

Even if there isn't room in my house for another 77", I'll find it

DigitalTrends.com just gave a great review of LG's OLED65G6P

"Majestic. Lifelike. Engrossing. No words quite do LG's top OLED justice"
