I prefer a flat screen because of its lower level of distortion if you watch it off-center and also because I think a curved TV would not look as nice on the wall. This is purely subjective of course.

Yes they are wall mountable and look good wall mounted.

The curve is minimal and I can tell you for someone who initially did not like curved TVs I now like them.

Thanks for the update Rob. I wonder if LG will do a gallery version of the 4K oled TV. I like the design of their Full HD version.

I wish someone would tell me how to unlock ISF Day and Night modes on the EA9800. I've looked and looked online and can find nothing telling how to unlock those modes on any LG tv. I actually did decide to calibrate my tvs myself and I know how to do everything on my kuros, but not on the LG.

I have been waiting for the 77" and info for about a year.

I noticed that the data is now on LG's web site. I was extremely disappointed to find the 77" is 41.9 inches high. It will not fit were it has to go.

Therefore, it looks like I will end up with a 65" when it goes flat

LG has made a few announcements about their CES lineup in a few days, there's some really great information here.

Apparently the flagship models will be utilizing deca-core processors?! And the most expensive model (EG9900) will have the ability to switch between curved and flat screen configurations!

Very interesting article. Glad to see LG is coming out with guns blazing with the OLED's.

This year's V.E.'s Flat Panel ShootOut is going to fun to watch

Thanks Jim, but you may not have to wait for our 2015 TV Shootout as I've decided to have LG's 65" and 77" 4K OLED TVs on display just after CES and we'll be calibrating and evaluating them on our TV Shootout wall against the best plasma and LCD/LED 4K TVs

I just put up an offer to participate in our 65"/77" 4K OLED evaluation event on my LG OLED dedicated website.

Here's a cut and paste of the offer:

"Email rzohn@valueelectronics.com to get on our invitation list to participate as we calibrate & evaluate LG's 65" & 77" 4K OLED TVs on our famous TV Shootout wall"

Hope to see many forum members.

Fantastic news! LG is really looking they're pulling out all the stops for OLED and QLED both this year and it's going to be really interesting to see what CES brings.

I have enjoyed reading about the Value Electronics shootouts that are even mentioned in the nationwide TWICE magazine. In addition, Robert has had some very useful information to share with people at Blu-ray.com. Many people visit Blu-ray.com because of Roberts posts. Some people end up purchasing products from Amazon or Best Buy instead of Value Electronics after reading Roberts post.

Perhaps Blu-ray.com might want to consider allowing some dealers to advertise at Blu-ray.com with an advertisement link in order to generate business for both the Blu-ray.com website and Value Electronics website (forum rules would need to be changed to allow some authorized dealers). Also, keep in mind some products have territory restrictions and Value Electronics customer base for some products is like a 50-mile radius from the store (Pioneer Elite I believe is one brand).

I hope Robert stays around to post information. I know it is time consuming and is a lot of work to create posts.

With a regular LG remote make sure you are on the ISF expert setting and type in 8741 enter.

I was looking at an LG OLED 55" (I think) curved 4K panel at Sam's Club last weekend. This set had a freakishly bad case of screen burn, the likes of which I haven't seen since the days of rear projection.

What gives with that? One look at that was all it took to keep me happily on my Samsung Plasma until the life goes out of it.

Are you sure it was 4K? 2013 and 2014 were 1080p's. In 2015, all three sizes will be 4K but I don't know if any are out right now, especially at Sam's Club.

I was at Best Buy a couple days ago and listened as one of the Best Buy employees told a couple watching the 55" OLED on display that this is a 4K when it wasn't. Even the slip with the TV's price said it was a 1080p

I have not noticed any screen burn at the B.B. near me and I have watched it play the same video over and over and over for a year and not on problem that I have seen so far.

Well, I don't live at Sam's so it's hard to say what kind of use or abuse this particular set may have experienced. I do know that the TV has been on display for a while and every time I went in the store it was playing some type of content driven program.

It's a 4K TV. That part of it was displayed as big as day. I always thought that LED and OLED where supposed to be far more resistant to screen burn than plasma. I really wonder (and would be concerned) what would happen if I fell asleep watching a Blu and then the menu would just stay on for around 5 or 6 hours.

I suppose what I'm wondering here is whether OLED at this stage of its existence is sensitive to, or easily given to burn in? I don't know.
