Yes, David is scheduled to stop by our showroom to calibrate and evaluate our C6 and B6 and we'll compare them to the G6.

I can't confirm LG promotional calendar at this moment. Stand by for my next post.

Just had this sent to me and wanted to repost it here. Francis Ford Coppola speaks about LG's 2016 4K OLED. Good listen.

Here's the Youtube video.

Robert the 2016 OLED's are not tracking HDR10 properly mapping it too DCI-P3 instead of Rec. 2020. Is this something that can be fixed with a FW upgrade?

I think this review may be suspect because when I played a dolby vision video on Netflix, the white balance and cms controls are there but they are greyed out which is what they reported BUT when I played a HDR video on Amazon, the white balance and cms controls are NOT greyed out and you can change them which is the opposite of what they reported. So my guess they must have tested an early version of the E6 with the original software. So now we really don't know if some of the issues they reported are still there. I did this tonight on my 55E6 March build purchased at VE last week with the latest software update.

I don't understand the price to size ratio of the 77" G6. LG is asking for a lot of money for an extra 12 inches of screen size compared to the 65" G6. Can anybody explain this?

Depending on yields, the extra 40% screen area could mean a lot more defective panels that need to be scrapped. I'm sure there's also somewhat of a premium added just because it's the largest, best OLED TV available.

"DCI-P3 instead of Rec. 2020" is that still a problem then ? you could be right

Got my replacement LG OLED65E6P today. Note the first was suppose to come last week but was broken in shipment before it ever reached me.

Still playing with which settings work best (so far have decided I don't like dynamic color on for my FIOS TV input). Did completely watch one 3D Blu-ray and one Blu-ray UHD and watched a couple of minutes of The Revenent Blu-ray UHD. Also watched a couple of sample UHD from YouTube. The set is clearly amazing.

Note you have to turn on HDMI Deep Color support for each HDMI with 4k input. It reboots after each one you set. And unlike earlier specs posted by LG it does have 4 HDMI inputs not 3 (someone earlier posted the same for the 55" model). LG has now updated this spec on their site.

I don't know enough to properly comment, but here's my take at the moment.

I assume 3D BD that is created in the side-by-side format may have some issues in resolving full resolution. Also we know passive 3D is 1/2 resolution, but I don't think that comes into play as we scaling the 1080p to 2160x3840.

Regarding the HDR10 properly mapping content to P3 vs. BT.2020 color I'll research this further, but in viewing many HDR streaming and BD content the color fidelity and saturation look excellent and accurate to my eye. Flesh tones look excellent and that's always a good barometer of color fidelity.

At our 2016 TV Shootout we'll have every premium manufacturers' 4K HDR on display feed the same HDR content through our custom built 18Gbps matrix switch. This will be the best way to see with our own eyes and proper test equipment which displays are decoding HDR, WCG, etc properly and which ones are not.

Even mad max colors looks excellent? Seems many have problems with colors in that movie.

Sorry I have not watched Mad Max. Are folks saying color was off on G6/E6 OLED TVs or other HDR TVs?

Robert

I just saw your post. Does this rebate also go with the E6 you're working on for me?

Has it been announced when the 55B6 is supposed to come out, is there any idea when it is or is that unknown right now...?
