@ Schultzy, the only official price LG has released at this time is MSRP, which is $5,999, but I'm causally optimistic we'll see it launch at the end of June for $4,999.

Thanks Ray, I actually have some of the same content on a USB stick that LG gave me. LG supplied all of the new 4K OLED TVs for NASA and they gave LG some of the most stunning content I have ever seen. We're using it in our showroom and everyone loves it and I plan on using some of it at our 2016 TV Shootout.

It was a 50" Elite that I sold back in August 2013. It was beginning to exhibit uneven wear, and I wanted something bigger. Enter the Panasonic ZT60 in June 2013, a loud IR magnet. I also bought an LG 55EA9800 in 2014 for a bedroom, which eventually became the great room TV. Sold the ZT60 in late 2014 due to the aforementioned reasons and used the EA9800 for a year. Missed the size of the ZT60 so I grabbed a 65EF9500 in November 2015. Traded that in due to near-black banding defects for an E6 last month. It's an amazing TV and huge improvement over the 9500. The pixel defects and the fact that there are more uniform panels out there has me upgrading to the G6 at the end of this month. I held onto the Kuro for 5 years, and I'm hoping to do the same (at least) with my next TV, so a lot is riding on this upgrade.
You got me beat. I would buy the latest and greatest display every year since 1989. Had the unreal Sony 32" XBR100 around 1994 and many other XBR sets then went to the Loewe sets like a 38" Aconda and on and on. I have had the 60tv60 for about 3 years. I just got tired of spending money and selling used for cheap each year.

I guess if my VT60 blew up today i would have to get a OLED. I would never buy a LED.

I have to ask why not an LED. I'm thinking OLED just have to wait a few months hopefully prices drop some after a few get sold...

Ever been to Bern's Steakhouse? I enjoyed it my trip to Tampa several years ago...

I hate LED. I can see motion blur on any LED i ever looked at. Crappy blacks, banding and all the rest of bad stuff. Never been to Berns and lived here all my life.

If my troubles persist, I guess LG VIP will be next. The local technician with whom they contract is not very attuned to PQ problems, so I'm reluctant to ask for their help.
I know this is going to sound like a sales pitch for Value Electronics, but I went with them for specifically this reason.

I could have bought an E6 that was local, and had free delivery, but the option for VE to QC the unit was a no-brainer for myself.

Obviously it isn’t free, but the extra money spent is well worth it to me it as it avoids the hassle of multiple exchanges if I get dead pixels, bad cases of banding, non-straight (curved) panels or anything else that could be wrong with it. Nothing I hate more than playing a panel lottery.

That would be for the 65", correct? If so, maybe $2,999 for the 55"?

I also would pay a little extra if the set is checked out. Not sure i would trust the shipping to FL.

Shipping from NY to Fl. That is no big deal. I have had three sets 65" Plasma, 78" LED and a 55" OLED from NY to Ca. Not even one hint of damage.

The delivery service is really top notch. My TV came faster than if it were a letter

I'm loving my 65E6 (thanks Robert!). Retired the 151FD. My only issue and what many owners are experiencing, is an occasional white flash lasting 1/3 a second. Seems to affect all inputs and internal apps. No one has figured out a pattern yet and depending on what rep you get when calling LG, they either never heard of it, or its top priority to fix. I've had my set for 1.5 weeks and seen the flash a handful of times, but not the past few days since I did a USB update to the latest firmware. But others are on the newest firmware and still getting the flash. Will wait and see.

That does mean a lot the extra service you get.

Out of curiosity I talked to Crutchfield online and asked about the new LG OLED's being capable of showing Dolby Vision titles on VUDU and I was told an update is coming so hopefully soon. I'd love to get a G6...

Robert what is your take on the B6? Panel technology is the same correct? How do the sparks sound? I'm in an apartment so can't have a full surround sound system.

I’m from IL. And where I haven’t received my TV yet, Robert assured me they pack the television on a pallet specifically designed and built to hold the television and keep it safe for delivery.

Yeah, I’ve been reading about these white flashes from others, as well. It is a bit disconcerting. Does it seem to vary from TV to TV? Where some may not get it all? If so, maybe I’ll ask Robert to take a look for that during their QC.

Also, how far apart do the white flashes happen on average? Is it something that happens every few minutes? An hour? Maybe you see it once a day?

It appears that everyone is getting the flash at one point or another. It happens so quick that some might not notice it especially if they are viewing in a well lit room. There will be no way for Robert to test for this and even if he caught it, a replacement set will have the same problem until LG fixes it which they will. It happens so quickly and so infrequently that it really isn't an issue while we wait on LG to correct it.

That’s what I was trying to clarify, if it was something that seems to happen with all TVs or just sporadic.

I just hope the fix isn’t a panel replacement, as I am also paying to have my TV broken in and calibrated along with the QC, and all of that would be thrown out the window if they did a panel replacement.

IMO doesn't sound like a panel issue. A faulty power supply or even a handshake issue could be causing the problem. I've seen static electricity cause havoc on sets as well.

No one knows at this point but if it's hardware, LG is going to have a massive recall problem on their hands because everyone is getting the flash at one time or another. Hopefully it will be a firmware fix.

I was a just notified that we're getting a small allocation of 55" B6s for Memorial Day week. Nice way to celebrate our most thankful and proud American holiday with this highly anticipated 2016 4K OLED display. Glad I'll have the extended holiday weekend to get plenty of viewing hours on what will likely be one of the best high-end TVs for this year.

This does not change the planned Nationwide launch of the last week in June, it's just a early launch special bonus for the few lucky LG's selected "early launch partner dealers".

Get ready for some exceptional entertainment experiences with our new 4K HDR TV system on the latest advancements that these ultra high contrast displays will undoubtedly deliver.

-Robert
