...and yes I too believe that any IP scaler or video upconversion tool on our AV receivers should be switched off for best picture

Thanks, there have been some forum members here and on AVS that have not been too happy with their service. Guess I will have to try and see for myself.

Oh really? I haven't heard a whole lot of feedback at all.

Not sure if this is of any relevance, but I thought of starting an official LG Oled Owners thread where all LG Oled owners of both newer and older models can chime in and share information:

I haven't heard this either and I find it very hard to believe. I'm sure there may be someone who may have had an issue for some reason or another, unfortunately situations can happen with any retailer, but their service, support and integrity is beyond reproach.

Is the sound bar built into the TV or a separate device?

It is built into the TV. The soundbar isn't the stand, like it is with the G6. But it is attached to the bottom of the TV. And then the stand screws into bottom of the sound bar.

THAT is the only thing that will keep me from opting for the E model in the near future. LG should give customers an option to purchase with or without the sound bar.

The 2016 C model seems the most logical choice for me once I am ready to upgrade to 4K/HDR without the useless (for me at least) sound bar

I am one who doesn't need the soundbar, either. As I use surround sound from my receiver.

However, the E6 is really a beautiful TV and the sound bar is not noticeable at all. I was a bit concerned I would focus on it, but I don't, the screen is too beautiful to do so.

Also, keep in mind that the C6 is curved. So if you don't like curved (which I don't), you may want to stay away from that.

Question is though how much longer will 3D be supported in the home? It's already dropped from some manufacturers this year, I hope the trend doesn't continue though, I love the passive 3D on my old LG LED and I'm not ready to get an OLED just yet, not for about 4 more years. Could be long gone by then.

As long as movies come out in 3D on the big screen I am sure they will also come out in 3D on bluray

See, I thought the opposite. Studios use 3D to as a device to charge more for a ticket whilst 3D sales in the home has never really been more than a niche.

I love LGs passive 3D though, it is far better than the Active 3D I have demoed.

I could easily see a world where 3D in the home is phased out so studios can force people to see it in the cinema at an extortionate price.

I don't think 3D in the home is going to pick up pace anytime soon though. Next year will be the real test, will more drop it or will the ones who did this year implement it again next year?

Maybe we will have to go without until UHD3D is a thing? Maybe Cameron is going to spearhead that for Avatar 2. UHD3D HFR wouldn't that be a treat?

The sound bar adds at least another $1000 to the total cost. It would be noticeable on my limited budget [emoji4]

Went to 3 BestBuys yesterday, hoping to see the G6 in action. Checked two magnolia rooms. Both had a guy behind a desk, blabbing on the phone. Not even concerned about us walking in. Looked around, couldn't find it. We then hit the sales floor and found an E6 in a dark corner. Next to all the clearance electronics and random crap. I don't know what setting they had it on but man the image quality was crap. To the point, the woman with me asked why on earth do I want to spend $5k on that. Now I am gonna have an even harder time convincing her to let me get it. Does Bestbuy not even care about selling the new OLEDs?

My local Best Buy told me that this week they were to replace the 2015 models on display with the 2016. I plan to go see if they have the C model on display next tuesday
