This ultra thin model is limited to the flagship Signature Series and the benefit is mostly it's ultra thin design and it's more than a few months away from launching.

Yeah he said January is expected date. The one thing that interesting is where are the speakers and HMDI outlets gunna be? He said its most likely like the Samsung model where it's detached from the tv

I could tell you, but you know what happens next. JK

Let's wait for LG's 8am September 15th CEDIA press conference for all of the details.

Most likely a separate adaptor, kinda like some of 2015 Samsung TVs

Back to the curve, I don't care for it at all on my 55-incher (55EA9800). It does little more than distorte letterbox movies (and other geometric shapes) and worsen off-angle reflections (making it nigh impossible to watch from such angles). A flat panel is simply more versatile unless you're always finding yourself seated inside the sweet spot (gamers unite?).

The Z9 better enjoy its time in the sun...that's impressive. It would suggest a mount that can be hung from the wall without the need for a stud (though I guess that's possible today already?). Just hope they can make them with uniform grayscale...my G6 is not (quite) what I had hoped.

Why would a "curve" in a panel cause motion artifacts, are the pixels running faster down the curve like winter olympic bobsleds? :>

That sounds like the vignetting of the 2015 models both flat and curved.

I also don't see a hot spot here.

Attachment 148796

OLEDs don't have a lightbulb or an optical lens/sytem to concentrate light anywhere nor the curve is going to pump more light to the center like a concave lens. If the panel is working properly light emitted by the pixels should be even, that's one of the advantages of OLED, in that the light output at different angles is uniform and more or less independent of the angle you view it, that's why it can easily do concave and convex screens or even wavy ones for displays, and contrast doesn't go grey when you watch from the sides like on LCDs

Also according to LG panel quality is the same across the line.

I totally disagree with that.

I think the advantages of the slight curve, specially when it gives you the feeling you're watching the best UA-150 70mm curved screens of yore trumps anything else under the sun.
you are entitled to your opinion.....I can only tell what we saw and what the pros pointed out...

Yes, that's an early prototype. I expect we'll see more advanced production at CEDIA.

Does any of you know if enabling Deep Color on more than one HDMI input can slow down processor or result in any type of issues?

Just a quick update for everyone.

Thank you all for all your help. This was a tough decision and I wanted to be extra sure before I spent this much money. You guys here on blu ray forums are all amazing. Especially Robert. Anyone who needs a TV should definitely deal with him. He has been nothing but helpful.

I ended up buying a 65" E6. Amazon offered me a deal I could not refuse. Which also allowed me to spend more than I originally wanted to. Thus letting me get the 65" E6. Words cannot express how happy I am about this purchase. . It will be arriving Tuesday!!
