The 2016 HDR WB is pretty good stock, but the controls can be used to adjust some things. I know the calibrator who works for Robert Zohn as well as Chad B make slight adjustments here to get errors down in HDR mode.

I messed around with the lowest IRE point in the HDR WB system and by clicking -1 on Blue resulted in far better image in dark areas.
Here is a before/after..Only change was -1 Blue...Previously there was a weird-lookiing bluish hue in dark areas or when picture was overall dark, that created a very artificial look and made black lose its vibrance

..and two more, from the same movie in UHD....
Everything else was at default settings in Standard HDR. Just 1 click in reducing Blue at the lowest point can make this much difference:

I know I'm just stating the obvious here but god damn the 3D on the 65" E6 is utterly amazing. This weekend if the first real chance I've had to sit down and watch a few 3D movies and it's unbelievable how awesome they look. I've watched Coraline, Guardians of the Galaxy and Everest.
Totally justifies the price bump over the B6, and justifies the decision to buy a 2016 OLED.

I'm actually beyond annoyed that 3D is now being dropped. It puts me in an almost impossible situation, and I lose either way. Either wait for prices to come down more ($4000 on TV is just simply more than I can afford) and lose what I consider a KEY feature, or get the 2016 model, but I'm screwed into paying a price that I've bided my time for YEARS being patient NOT to have to pay. I'm sure I'll just wind up going with a totally 2D model down the road, but it's extremely irritating that patience - for the first time ever to my knowledge - is actually going to leave me with a set with LESS features than if I'd been impulsive.

Agreed. I'm seriously considering buying another 65E6 as a spare in case mine gives out, since it can't be replaced with anything comparable once the 2016s are gone.

What is interesting is that Oled light in DV is 1/2 that of HDR (50 vs 100) and yet they look identical
