It's good to see a few more 4K movies on there from studios other than Sony (Annie's in 4K, natch). Night at the Museum 3 (Fox) and Unbroken (Universal) are both 4K, but check out that DCP file size for Unbroken: a mere 93GB! To think that people are still bricking it that 4K BD won't be able to manage with 66GB/100GB discs and HEVC compression...

Poked, punctured, bruised, sore and still terribly drugged up but home in time for Christmas. BIG Thanks
![]() I’m alive, kicking and ‘officially’ not aphasic secondary to the throwing any clot during the heart procedure. To discern whether the later (no aphasia) is truly correct, I’ll verbalize all the words as I’m typing them out in the next few posts I make today. Here goes…. |

![]() i.e. I produced a *tent* with my hospital gown (using no hands) and while somewhat embarrassingly ![]() Must say, the nursing staff (RN’s) on xNorth was the most competent, patient and caring I’ve ever had. It really helped make the whole ordeal tolerable. Thanks to all the girls. ![]() P.S. A tip of the hat to the male nurses too for rolling me and gently helping me out of bed. Good job guys. ![]() ![]() |

Plus, ‘seeing’ doesn’t give him the ability to talk the talk or walk the walk. For that, one needs educating, e.g. with Interstellar…. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...se#post9956015 |

One problem is the absolute maximum allowed data rate for the JPEG 2000 images in a DCP for DCI compliance is 500 Mb/sec, source
I did give a heads-up to Seattle folks last May as to a non-DCP 4K 3D @ 120 fps presentation (which ran at > 900 Mb/sec) …. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...ma#post9147646 Even if Douglas Trumbull’s solution to immersive filmmaking doesn’t gain traction, it is possible that the 500 Mb/sec data rate will be revised upward someday for the sake of 4K HDR, as at least one member of the AMPAS' Science and Technology Council is asking/lobbying for the upgrade. |

^ Reminds me, someday when I get more energy and having a bowel movement isn’t the greatest challenge of my day back from hospital, I’ll try to search for a YouTube or vimeo video from the likes of CIC (http://www.imaging.org/ist/conferences/cic/) presentations that illustrates the proper way to pronounce metamerism for the sake of celebrity video gurus and their listeners.

I'm not going to try to pronounce that. I don't want my tongue looking like my shoelaces, for crying out loud. You know how to pronounce it, be honest and tell us if you can do it with both eyes pointing in the same direction. |

As for 4KBD, the more space it has and less compression the better. I don't care how good a compression algorithm is. That's how i feel about anything carrying alot of data actually. |

Heck, even the 4K DCP of Interstellar (which was fine-tuned to look as close to the prints as possible and looked mighty fine to me) clocked in at 226GB which is a fair bit smaller than other 4K DCPs of a similar length, including Nolan's own Dark Knight Rises which was 302GB. |

Are you sure this is the 4K version? Because it states a resolution of only 2048x858, which is not 4K. |
