I disagree, even Lucas couldn't come up with such "scripts" those guys write.

17th in Argentina, too.

BTW, I asked something in the last page but it got lost quickly since it was the last post.

Will the movie have the Episode VII subtitle? So far, every official thing that came from the movie only had the name Star Wars The Force Awakens on it. If ''Episode VII'' is not on the opening crawl, it will be very weird... I mean it's weird not having the 20th Century Fox fanfare already!

I'll bet cash money that it will still have the Ep VII title. I think there's been a concerted effort to move away from the numbers in the marketing for several reasons: the prequels used such a system and anything associated with them = no no; there will be other non-numbered Star Wars spinoff movies so this is getting people conditioned to that; newcomers and casuals won't be put off by the thought of having to track down 6 previous movies, sounds daft but it's true. Disney want as clean a slate as possible for the new movies whilst still respecting the movies that immediately preceded them (see also: the excommunication of the EU).

I'm sure it will. The Episode numbers have been around since the early '80s, so it wouldn't make sense to do away with them now even as some silly anti-PT thing.

Good to know. I don't know why you both related it to something to do with the prequels though. All the OT also had the episode number. (a new hope not originally, but it had it on its re release)

Hey, I acknowledged that in my post.

It's because it's the only reason I could possibly see for them to drop the numbers now. Like Geoff said, they really brought the "Episode [insert Roman numeral here]" subtitles to the forefront with the marketing for the prequels, so if they were to do away with them now it'd be to distance the new movies from the PT (which we've seen many examples of them doing).

But, as we both know, that wouldn't even make sense because they've been there since the olden days, it's not something the PT started. And thus, the conclusion is that the Episode VII subtitle will be there in the opening crawl.

Nothing wrong with the scripts for M:I:III and Star Trek (2009). ALIAS and LOST were great shows.

Indeedlydoo. It may be a small detail that doesn't really impact the quality of the film, but it wouldn't feel right without it.

Could say the same thing about the 20th Century Fox fanfare.

Sure, and it took some getting used to the idea of not having that before the new movies for me too. But still, as closely associated with Star Wars as that logo and fanfare have become, it's a studio logo and really not exclusive to this franchise in any way. The title is (duh) actually part of the movie itself and would be a more significant change.

I don't know why anyone would even entertain the notion the film won't have the Episode VII moniker on the opening scroll. The film was always called Episode VII during production, JJ even says it in the behind-the-scenes comic con video, they had VII plastered on the side of the soundstages in England. LucasFilm refers to the upcoming sequels as Episodes VIII and IX. It's useless paranoia to think the opening scroll for The Force Awakens won't include "Episode VII".

Neither Empire of Jedi have their Episode numbers either on posters or marketing materials, just the opening scroll. It was prominent in the prequel advertising to emphasize that they were prequels and not a continuation. To think VII won't have it...

It's very telling how young some of these posters are if they think Force Awakens won't have Episode 7 in the opening crawl just because it's not on the logo.

We really need a new trailer so people can have something worth talking about.

I'm reading Dawn of the Jedi, my very first SW comic read and I absolutely love it. It's fresh and it's not the same old Vader/Luke stuff. I am really liking this. I want to read everything from the beginning to the current.

Also started on Clone Wars Season 6 (Lost Missions) God damn I forgot how incredible that show was, I hope Rebels is just as good.
