Well Disney owns both ESPN and Star Wars, so cross promotion wasn't a real stretch. The trailer premiered during the week 6 MNF game between the Eagles & Giants which aired on ESPN.
They have been doing bumpers ever since.

There is literally a Sports Center episode scheduled around Star Wars. Listing doesn't give any details yet but it only says "Star Wars" and it airs December 15th at 7pm.

Oh and, btw, funny promo from Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. At least they're acknowledging what they're up against.

Abrams told Page Six in a statement: “The number of rumors floating around about ‘The Force Awakens’ is truly stunning. Some are wonderfully funny, others simply preposterous. But the only one more ridiculous than Jar Jar Binks being a Sith Lord is that I cut Lupita Nyong’o’s performance because it wasn’t satisfactory.”

The director added: “In truth, her performance wasn’t satisfactory. It was spectacular. She has brought the character of Maz Kanata to life in the most wonderful, wise, touching, deep and funny way. Lupita never ceased to amaze me. Yes, we tried many approaches, and we finally landed on just what the film needed. I think I can speak for a good majority of us loyal fans that had seen the original trilogy in theatres in '77, '80' & '83 the surreal moment not just with the opening crawl reading 'EPISODE VII THE FORCE AWAKENS' but when the screen either pans up or down to a planet and a ship speeding across space how surreal it will feel, especially when Han, Leia or Chewie appear for the first time. Luke will too, but I don't expect him to show up until later.....

BTW, are there are press screenings coming up next Thursday? A coworker of mine told me yesterday that a buddy of his is seeing it on 12/10 and I'm almost certain there are no advance screenings for the general public that early.
