3d is good. Nothing really coming out of the screen (
[Show spoiler]except the tip of a stardestroyer in one scene
), it just adds depth.

Come on Wolvie...this is the movie event of the year. You gotta watch, at least, The Force Begins this weekend .

It was and will be the best Christmas present I bought myself this year!

Spoilers almost ruined it for me. After watching it and knowing where the spoilers were going to happen I was not shocked but still found myself yelling at the screen "DON'T LOOK!"

Very emotional.

[Show spoiler]Kylo Ren's parentage
.

I'm jumping into this thread to post the following and then jumping right back out so I don't see any spoilers, so I apologize if this has already been mentioned:

Quote:
SNL comedian Bill Hader is coming off a stellar year with a leading man turn in "Trainwreck," an acclaimed run on this season of "South Park," and a role in the year's most well-regarded animated film "Inside Out".

Turns out there's one other gig he did this year that no-one has talked about - he provided the "voice" of the soccer ball droid BB-8 in this weekend's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". Hitfix spotted his name as "BB-8 Vocal Consultant" in the credits and asked him about the nature of his involvement in the film. He said:

"JJ f--king around with this sound effects app on his iPad that was attached to a talk box operated by me. It looked ridiculous but it made BB-8's voice. At first I tried doing a voice, but we all agreed it sounded too human."
SOURCE: http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/404...-is-surprising

I guess his pitch to JJ actually worked out

He did, there are indeed very few of them.

They did, I actually liked that nod.

Nice, I'm glad that they're not wiping the PT from history, in spite of its faults.

Try and see this in IMAX 3D if you can. I have seen the movie twice now, first time was IMAX at midnight and saw a regular 3D showing this morning. The IMAX scene in the movie where the aspect ratio opens up was great and felt gimped when it was locked to scope.

Would have been cool if the other dogfights were filmed with IMAX cameras as well.

The audience I saw it with were great too. No talking, no looking at phones. Laughing and light applause at all the right parts, people even clapped when the BBFC card and Lucasfilm logo appeared.

Seeing it tomorrow morning. The only thing I cant stand is that many reviews immediately start harping on the prequels which were flawed but fine with me overall. Just dont want to hear all the prequel-hate BS.

I hope Phasma gets some sort of Jetpack in Episode VIII. She would look like a Chrome Stormtrooper Boba Fett flying around making headshots.

I couldn't agree more! Give it time, though. I'm sure some will find something to hate, and I'm sure a very select few will somehow blame Lucas.
Only 9 more hours until my theatre goes dark and the film starts to roll!
I....can't...wait!!!!

A little less than 9 hours to go when the scrolling yellow letters hit the big screen!

I have avoided this thread for the last 3-4 days but I would compare the drive to peak into the spoiler tags like holding the urge to urinate while on a long road trip. The closer you get to the bathroom the stronger the urge to give in!!

I would like to thank everybody for not ruining it for all the members here by placing spoiler tags and sticking with it. Seems rare this day in age with all the troll out and about.

Cheers and may the force be with you not to piss yourself,

It's starting to hit me that I'm seeing a new Star Wars film in about 9 hours, something I never thought I'd see again. I'm starting to lose my shit.
