For all the hate the prequels get, I'd think it'd be an ultimate slap to the face of Lucas if they ended up pissing on the prequels in this.
I think there are a few nods, but generally it doesn't. But then this takes place 50-60 years after the events of Episode 1-3, so there's not really much they could reference I suppose. Most of the characters from that time are dead by this point.

Just got back. No prequel nods at all.

There wasn't much prequel stuff at all. Everything was mostly for the OT.

The only real nod would be if the planet Starkiller Base destroyed was in fact Coruscant. I highly doubt that though.

Welcome to real life. People age and change, although in Carrie's case, a lot of her aging is due to substance abuse.

Return of the Jedi was released 32 years ago. Let's see what you look like in 32 years.

Just got back from watching it with my 9 year old sister.

I was going to go alone at first but she really wanted to see it as well bless her.

All I can say is wow! This is more like it! It puts the prequels to shame.

Well done to everyone to who was involved in the making of this film.

There were a lot of people leaving that screening really happy, myself included.

An easy 5/5.

The trouble is that 99% of critics are just "asses with opinions". The days of Kael, Ebert, and so on are long gone. There are a couple of noteworthy critics out there, but the vast majority are utterly useless and the lowest form of life - mindless sheep with superficial thoughts.

There were a few subtles i.e.
[Show spoiler]mentioning a clone army, Kylo Ren's appearance mirroring Anakin's etc.

As Nada said though, the prequels were like 60 years ago, much has changed and so there's not much you can really reference.

Well I will certainly have
[Show spoiler]a face that moves with wrinkles. Han and Luke both looked like their naturally older selves. I literally couldn't equate this Leia with her younger character at all, seemed like a different person and took me out of the film a bit TBH.

I'm gonna be extremely pissed off if true. I've avoided spoilers the entire week up to this moment.
And yet you post it as an unmarked spoiler, what just in case it was real??

It's not confirmed to be Coruscant yet, I hope J.J. gives some clarity on this.

When I watched the film I thought it probably was, but wasn't fully convinced. As you said, hopefully there will be some clarity given sometime after the dust has settled.

[Show spoiler]People are saying it's Hosnian Prime or Chandrilla. I'm hoping that in VIII they actually go to Coruscant if it does still exist, because I love the view of the skyline - it was amazing in ROTS.

My two favourite scenes both involve storm troppers. When
[Show spoiler] Rey tell him to leave his gun on the way out, and those two who turn around when they realise the Kylo Ren is throwing a fit inside the room, laugh my socks off!!!
