Skip it and stick with 2D. I was unimpressed with the 3D.

**** yeah, that film looks ridiculously awful, sign me up now!

Independence Day: Resurgence

Again, looks mindless and fun, just hope Emmerich lays off the sub-plots and characters and avoids a three hour endurance test.

Warcraft (The Beginning as it's dubbed over here)

Man, why does Duncan Jones have to be tied to a product that looks so dull.

X-Men: Apocalypse

I'm pretty much on the exact same page as you, First Class was first class, Future Past was fine, but this one is lacking in something. Got a feeling it will deliver though.

Captain America: Civil War

One woman yelled oh no, I guess she just thought it was another Avengers flick. Probably the strongest trailer out of the whole lot, looks quite dramatic and interesting, excited to see it.
My trailers:

Captain America Civil War: Can't wait for this!

Star Trek Beyond: I'm mixed about this film

Zootopia: Trailer made me laugh. But I won't see it.

The 5th Wave: Sick of young kids saving the world films. They're boring.

[Show spoiler]Personally, I feel that the end scene of this should have been at the start of Episode VIII. I know that would have meant all we see of Luke is that shot with his hand on R2, but they could have either had a shot of him similar to Leia after Han dies, or just not show him at all - I don't think anyone would have expected that. I just think that it leaves them in a bit of an odd place to pick it up - as it is, they'd have to jump straight back in where they left it. At the very least, there should have been a line of dialogue, even just a word, to give it some sense of finality - anything would have been better than that bloody helicopter shot!

Well I just got home from seeing it, and I thought it was really good 4/5. The biggest reason I can't give it a 5/5 is that I kept repeating to myself "that happened in A New Hope" several times. Kinda like SUPERMAN RETURNS copied so much from SUPERMAN. I do think this was a much better film then SUPERMAN RETURNS.
I definitely liked it more then the prequels but EMPIRE is still king in this universe for me.
I can't believe I did this, but a minute after the Han intro I teared up. I couldn't control myself. Crazy....
I do wish it was a bit more original but over all I had a good time.
[Show spoiler]I really wish Han lived. His death IMO would of had more impact in the sequel after he met up with Luke and we as an audience spent more time with him. I also thought Rey and Finn were too good with the lightsaber, as many of you do. Rey also was strong with force too quick for me, but maybe this will be explained in the sequel. You never know.

I must say Rey was awesome, her character and acting made this movie for me. That and seeing Han and Chewbacca again. I thought Finn as ok, not the best actor or character.
[Show spoiler]Han telling Finn to take it down a notch was beautiful.

JJ Abrams did a good job. He still has yet to truly impress me as a director. He's really good but no where near his idle Spielberg. Spielberg by this time in his career had knocked a few out of the park. Abrams has yet to that for me.
So, 4/5 not better then IV and V but on par with VI. I look forward to the Blu-ray.

Enjoyed this for the most part. The cast, old and new, was excellent all around. Haven't seen the much energy from Ford in any of his other recent projects, Indiana Jones included. The action, score, humor, and adventure were all there. It was a lot of fun, and it set up an exciting new trilogy. My main issues were with the overall story. It did less to expand the mythology than to pay homage to the existing one. (spoilers below)

[Show spoiler]1. Death Star with a vulnerable exhaust vent, you say? They did a good job trying to keep it fresh, but in reality, it was the same thing over again.

2. Similarly, there were too many attempts made to explain how things worked. It's Star Wars, not Asimov. Focus on the adventure, not the science fiction, and let the audience use their imagination.

3. It broke the rhyming structure with the ending and a lot of the unanswered questions. The first movie of the trilogy should be self-contained without the cliffhanger ending. Even the middle chapters hit a natural pause in the story before they end. TFA just interrupted the story abrubtly to roll credits (or rushed through one story element to get the cliff hanger/reveal, depending on how you look at it).

4. The three heroes don't get any time together. Finn develops relationships with both, but Po and Rey get less time together than Anakin and Obi-wan in TPM. There was less feeling of unity between all the characters than in I or IV.

5. And, as others had mentioned, some story elements didn't quite click. How do the First Order, Resistance, and Republic relate to each other? After 30 years, are we still stuck in the same civil war where the first order is in power, or is the Order a small group that emerged only after the new Jedi were destroyed? And if so, how do they build a mega death star without intervention from the Republic fleet that was mentioned?

Makes me curious what Lucas' original treatments were and how much was/wasn't kept. Given Lucasfilm's reputation for secrecy, I doubt we'll ever find out much about it. But hey, looking forward to the next one!

It was done for budgetary reasons.
[Show spoiler]Since Mark Hamill doesn't have any lines of dialog, they can pay him what they pay all the extras.

EDIT: Dude. Spoiler tag your post.

Lucas' idea for the next sequel was "Episode VII: The Midichlorians Awake."

I agree, but you should spoiler tag your post.
[Show spoiler]But yeah, preparing the mission to find Luke would have been a much stronger ending a la ESB.

Forgot I had Star Trek Beyond as well, but that trailer is quite bad. Wish we had The Revenant.

Worthless. About as bad an not-3D as any film I can recall.

Trailers (to the best of my recollection). I saw the movie twice on opening day.

X-Men Apocalypse
Captain America: Civil War
The Fifth Wave (looks awful).
Independence Day: Resurgence
Zootopia (hope the whole film is as funny as the trailer).
Warcraft
Kung Fu Panda 3 (meh)
Fantastic Beasts

Well this has got to suck for people who waited in line to see the movie on opening night at a theater in Hollywood. The projector stopped at a key moment about 75% of the way through the movie and when it restarted it had jumped ahead to a scene with a plot twist reveal.

The Enterprise crew was killing sand worms to harvest spice on Arrakis. He had no choice but to destroy them.
