So much for unwarranted hate for TFA, when it is easily the best Star Wars film since 1983. All the new characters -- Rey, Finn, Poe, and even BB-8 -- all bring something new to Star Wars that was sorely missing in the prequels.

No, I don't think so. Remember, Kylo was emotionally and physically crippled after killing his father and getting hit by Chewie's crossbow. It wasn't a fair fight. Besides, he didn't even want to kill Rey. He was told by Snoke to bring her to him alive.

What was missing character wise in the prequels? You have anakin, ObiWan, Palpatine, Padme, Artoo and Threepio, Yoda, Jango Fett, etc. some pretty cool characters there I’d say.

Of the new characters , only Kylo really gets any "meat". Rey is dull, They don’t seem sure what to do with Finn and Poe so while they get off to an OK start their character arcs fall mostly flat.
