I think I've only seen Efron in Me and Orson Welles and I thought he did pretty good. He wouldn't be anywhere near my choices for Star Wars, but he seems to be a 'heartthrob' movie star that can at least be decent when he has some good material and a good director to work with.

It would be cool to see Gosling in Star Wars but also cool if JJ and co can discover some unknowns for this new trilogy.

Come on... It's Star Wars, a franchise not known for it's talented actors/actresses. As long as whomever they bring on board is not a total onscreen nuisance, I could care less about the cast.
Personally, I'm more intrigued with the story premise.

I can see both these guys being part of V11. Disney is aiming for a broad and diverse audience not just the Scifi nerds. Bringing these two will accomplish that. Also, Disney is not concerned what the fanboys want. They're in this for thing - Bringing home oodles of money.

Ryan Gosling in Star Wars? I think he would turn it down, unless the have a really good script that makes him want a part in it.

Hopefully this won't turn out to be the case, as for Gosling, well he's decent but I wouldn't pick him for Star Wars.

Gosling is a good actor and I love his presence, but this does seem a little out there for him which makes me think he may in fact be PERFECT.

Efron actually is a good actor in what I ahve seen. Liked him in PAPERBOY.

Yeah, DDL sometimes really nails it and then other times I feel like Im watching him act. very often, the films hes in are all the same and he plays a variation of the same characters over and over. Its like the entire purpose of the film is so he can act. I dunno.

Gosling is getting close to being over exposed. The dude is Ok but he isnt the second coming of Dustin Hoffman or anything. Hes another guy whos pretty-boy persona resonates with the ladies but taken purely on acting ability he has to be considered entirely mediocre. Dime a dozen.

I don't really care about the casting as I do if the script is good. The casting for the prequels was good (other than Annakin), and looked what happed with those films!
