I know, but personally I think he's too old to keep going as Indy.

Unless he takes a HUGE back seat at least, and is treated like a Obi-Wan like leader/adviser.

But that's another thread entirely.

Personally, after the upcoming Episode 7 I really want to see little to none of the original cast. If C3PO and R2-D2 weren't so prominent in the prequels I would have excluded them, but now I just want them to go also.

I agree, I want this to be about the new cast. If they need original 3 to transition, fine. But after that let them focus on the newbies

Completely unelated thought but...

Regarding Princess Leia's "cinnabon" hair style. In hindsight I don't think Lucas should have shown Padme wearing the same hair do in Revenge of the Sith. Why? Because being that Leia was raised on Alderaan, it's likely that the cinnabon hair style was something native to that planet. Padme was from a completely different planet with a completely different sense of fashion. In my mind, this was just yet another example of unnecessary foreshadowing that Lucas felt that he just had to shoe horn into the prequels to tie it into the original trilogy.

Yeah, it's 11:40pm and I'm a big nerd! LOL!

It was somewhat similar but not the same. and bail organa knew padme (so likely his wife did too), and could have seen and liked it and styled Leia's hair similarly as a child

Oh I know. There's tons of "wiggle room" to explain it but still, it's just another thing that makes the SW universe feel smaller. Besides, they both look pretty damn similar to me...

Not to mention that all the planets in the Republic are connected by the holonet. Styles and culture from one planet will spread to another planet. Coruscant being the central hub of the Republic, I'm willing to bet that styles and cultures from all over the Republic can be found there. Similar to our cities like New York, Paris and London. I'm sure Padme picked the hairstyle up on Coruscant. Bail having also been at the capital would have also seen this hairstyle. And I'm sure his wife did too. So she taught it to Leia.

Does our real world get smaller because I can find similar styles in Paris and New York? No. It just means we are part of a connected world that share styles and cultures. No country in our world exists in a vacuum. They are all influenced by other country's cultures and styles. A hairstyle in Paris will show up in New York or Russia or England or any number of countries. Coruscant and other planets in the Republic would be exactly the same. Finding similar or the same hairstyles on different planets is expected, especially on the capital planet that is a literal hub of the rest of the planets.

The latter posts explaining styles across continents rightly explain how they could easily have simliar hair styles, but I agree with your point that it was shoe-horned in purely as a form of fan-service.

Thanks for sharing that.

I can't explain it, but now that I've seen those photos it has finally "sunk in" that there is a new Star Wars movie coming!

Love the animatronics!

Yes Lucas did get a little too CGI crazy in the prequels.

You can't seriously compare different cities/countries of one planet with different planets in different solar systems.

Yes he can. Because as fast and common as interplanetary/ intergalactic travel is in the SW universe world, its the equivalent of intercontinental travel here. People travel to another planet there as if they were just visiting the next city over.

TPM did. By Eps II and III they were used as little as humanly possible. You can bet that by 2014 if Lucas was making these he wouldn't even have actual Jedi robe costumes being made.

Yes, a lot of uninspired garbage sets built quickly and on the cheap.

The backgrounds, special effects, and green screen work aren't the weaknesses of Episodes 1-3. People mostly found problems with the stories, characters, acting, casting, plots, etc.

Seriously, would more on-site set work, models, and animatronic puppets have made Eps 1-3 better movies? I would have to say no.
