We see via the prequels that Yoda was wrong about a good bit.

Just saw those concep art photos.

Oh man. I really hope they
[Show spoiler]use that concept about the destroyed ships/AT-AT's being used as a makeshift fort.
Anyone else do that with their broken Star Wars toys as a kid?

So glad this concept art is out in the wild now. I grew tired of reading other people's descriptions of what I wanted see with my own eyes.

Well, if all of this stuff is fake (like soooooo many people keep insisting it is) then it seems to me like JJ's spent more time trying to fake us out than than he has making the actual movie.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the right one: that shit's the realeffingdeal.com.

I wonder what the budget for Fake Out Department would be and are do they get their own office space or do they stick them next to craft services?

By the looks of the concept art, everything I read up to this point about Luke going to the dark side and what not seem legit.

It looks like real concept art...the question is if the Sith Boogey Man is actually Luke, or if people are constructing a narrative based on the images. If Luke is the baddy, it's the worst kept secret in movie history.

Kinda like James Harrison. I'm mean... Khan.

The one image with the Sith Boogey Man holding the female character from behind, who I like to refer to as Darth Gropper, definitely looks like Mark Hammil. Of course, it's all concept art. It could be just an idea they tossed around and decided not to use.

I just hope that they cyborg dude pictured that supposedly based on a discarded Star Wars character from 1976 isn't called Montross. Everytime I hear that, I think of the 70s hard rock band Montrose with Sammy Hagar. Maybe they can put Max von Sydow on a repulsor hover chair and blare Bad Motor Scooter while he zooms around looking at the lightsaber.

I can see that a bit. The only thing is, what about Hammill's beard? I thought he grew it for the movie?

I suppose that could be misdirection. . . only a little over a year till we find out for sure. I Can't wait!

It would be the cheapest disguise/fake out option....Hamill grows beard, makes very public appearances wearing beard, Sith Boogey Man has no beard to throw people off...Hamill shoots his "real scenes" after claiming they've wrapped.

I hate the idea of an evil Luke. Like down to my very bones.

It's possible. They shot fake scenes for TESB. I think the only people who knew during principal photography that Darth Vader was Luke's father were Lucas, Kasdan, Kershner and Hamill.

::EDIT::
During photography the line was, "Obi Wan killed your father."

I don't think Hamill would have grown that epic beard only to have it hacked off digitally to play a cyborg.

A guy was prosecuted for leaking Episode II material...who in their right mind would risk the civil damages from violating NDAs -- and possible prison time -- to leak like this?

My hunch is this is part of the marketing strategy.

They wouldn't hack it off digitally...Hamill would shave and shoot his scenes. Then they'd announce wrap and a clean-shaven Hamill would appear with everyone. Everything is up in the air right now. You can't trust anything.

I hope not! I don't believe the rumors going around about Luke; it just doesn't seem to make sense. I was just pointing out the counterpoint to my observation (trying to keep the discussion reasonable).

I see nothing in that concept art which implies Luke turns to the Dark Side.

Can you explain what makes you think that's legit?

Its certainly possible for the Luke rumor to be false while the concept art is true.

Some of this concept art may not even make it into the movie. There's concept art for the prequels that never made in into the any of the films, right?
